Good choicePosted May 23, 2013
The hotel was pleasant, staff were helpful and the breakfast was decent. There were limited parking spaces but we had no problem parking during our stay - one day when the car park was full they found us a place around the front of the hotel. Wireless internet was provided free though we had to collect a new password every 24 hours. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner.

Ok hotel-not convenient for travelling further outPosted Oct 25, 2012
Pros: Lack of variety at breakfast and evening meals (same menu throughout my stay) although you could ask them to make something up for you, e.g. a pizza.
Cons: Hotel is a bit dated and needs maintenance, wall paper peeling, curtains had stains on them in my room, mould. 15 mins brisk walk to the train station
Location: Hotel not very central - good 15 mins brisk walk to the central station which isn't ideal if you intend on heading out as there's not much in Catania.
Most of the staff (and I say this as there were 2 people at the reception desk who were not courteous when I first arrived) were very helpful & accommodating even though their English wasn't very good. I wouldn't call this a 4* hotel, more of a good 3*. It's a bit dated and sometimes cleanliness was lacking (reference to the room I was given when I checked in and being accused by the non-courteous reception desk staff of taking too long in notifying them that I wasn't satisfied - mould in the bathroom, hair in the bath, stains on the toilet seat). Having said that, when I complained that I only booked this hotel because of the good reviews, they upgraded me to a larger room for free. I was a bit miffed that I was then asked if I was happy now that I had a bigger room, I let it go but had I been bold enough I would have reinforced that my complaint was not about the size of the original room given to me and more about it's cleanliness which was unacceptable. Couldn't fault waiters in the restaurant who were very attentive. You really need a car/go on organised tours (there is a non-existent tourist office) when travelling in Sicily - plan ahead from home if you're doing things independently as it's very difficult to get hold of travel timetables or no which bus/trains to get unless you're fluent in Italian or your hotel is obliging. Sights are scattered around Sicily. Having said that, the locals are very helpful and will point you in the the right direction.

Great experiancePosted Aug 10, 2012
Pros: The comfort of the hotel, either from the uality staff or the atmospher created by the decour
Cons: The bar only manned upon request
Located nicely within the centre of Catania. modern and warming decour yet always at a comforting cool tempreture, all of which is very welcoming to any guest. The staff are very friendly and cant seem to do enough to accomindate your needs and requests. there were a couple of niggly little issues with my room, but everything worked and was very comfortable. cant complain for the price and the quality of the staff

second night stay at belliniPosted Jul 29, 2012
Pros: breakfast breakfast breakfast breakfast breakfast
Cons: no pudding i wanted,no clams, no vongoles in seafood pasta only prawns
Location: very central with the views on mount etna and closeby etnea street
After we decided to stay another night, we went to try the hotel's restaurant. The food was amazing and the price was reasonable. But when the member of the staff got me excited about the special pudding they had, riccotta cheese with caramel on top. he came back and he said they didnt have any. Im still thinking about that pudding.

CURTIOUS STAFF FOR CATANIAPosted Jul 28, 2012
Pros: breakfast, views, upgraded room, bath, tv,parking next to hotel, room service menu reasonable , bar staff downstairs were especially accomodating
Location: central location, close to the etnea street, all the shops and market
Upon cheking in, the clarck persuaded us to spend 20 euros more , 5 euros to have wi fi in the room, and 15 euros for the upgrade. His selling skills were suberp and as a result we took the upgrade and reserved a second night. the clarck upgraded us 2 levels, and we ended up with our own studio suite. This was greatly appriciated and 10 out of 10 for the clarck in promoting and selling the brand. The hotel was in the centre of town, free parking, when ordering wine and water at the bar you weren't charged the excesive prices, they were intentive supplying ice when needed. The views on the city and especially Mount Etna was amazing. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. there was hot breakfast, continental and italian with the cold meats melon selection. They also had little bowls of salad in plastic containers which were visually very appealing. Lot of juice choice, 12 jams, crossaints..yummi...too bad we were on a diet.

Only fault I could find was quality of buffet breakfast - selection of items was limited because not kept topped up and waiting staff were unfriendly.

Not impressedPosted Nov 12, 2011
Location: Catania and Taormina were wonderful. Palermo was so bad. But it is very interesting to see and explore Taormina and its historical and wonderful beaches and some seafood especially in Catania
We feeeled coolness in all hotel personnel and environment. Dont feel any warm from personnel. Shower were getting hotter very slowly. Dont advise it to the friends.
