Great Visit to Catania/Sicily!Posted Sep 21, 2014
Location: A half-hour's walk from the Hotel: museums, churches, parks, restaurants, shopping & a train/bus station offers inexpensive transportation
Although the hotel seemed very busy, our four night stay here had a very helpful staff and manager. The reception rooms for meetings/weddings, family reunions, etc. are available. The hallways, restaurants and hotel rooms/suites were very clean and quiet. It is in a great location. Our 3rd floor balcony from our suite (a two-floor, bath and a half loft that could accommodate 3-4 people) had a view of Mt. Etna! Daily breakfast was very satisfying and and the Happy Hour/Apertivo on the rooftop bar was a very good value. Our king-sized bed was very firm and comfortable. Would definitely consider visiting again--there is so much to see -- not only in Catania, but an hour-2 hours away are other beautiful cities to visit using local, inexpensive ground transportation which is right outside the hotel's doors! We felt very welcomed by the local people and just wish we had more time to enjoy the beautiful churches, museums, parks and restaurants, trattoria's, and pasticeria's! We'll be back!

Great central location, nice area.Posted Sep 20, 2014
Great hotel. Exceptional customer service. Rita saved the day with travel info and directions , after weather caused our Mt Etna trip to be cancelled. All of the staff were always very friendly and professional !!!

The hotel is clean, reception staff is friendly. Bathrooms are a little old, slightly weathered as is the carpet furniture in the rooms but the linens are very clean. The restaurant staff is courteous as well.

modern, friendly city hotelPosted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Front desk staff were very friendly; bed was comfortable but best of all was the rooftop terrace for aperitivo or dinner.
Location: 10 minute walk from Duomo. It is on the main shopping street.
Very friendly staff and modern hotel. Very pleasant stay, even better than what we expected. We used Catania as a base for travels in the area, but if you want to see Catania, the hotel is within walking distance from the centre. Lovely rooftop terrace.

Excellent Hotel in central locationPosted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Really helpful and friendly staff, clean and tidy, excellent food and drink, good location and amazing views from the rooftop terrace.
Location: Go to the main square and watch the world go by with a beer or two. The local market and the fish market are amazing and of course Mt Etna!
We stayed in the UNA Hotel in Catania for 4 nights on a relaxing break. The location is great, nice and central so close to everything in the town. The hotel has a rooftop terrace where for an extra few Euro's we were able to enjoy an excellent breakfast overlooking the town and the spectacular view of Mount Etna. We also frequented the terrace in the evening to enjoy a relaxing drink at the end of the day. We actually saw Etna smoking heavily one morning and saw it glowing red that same evening - spectacular sight! The staff in the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. Not speaking Italian wasnt a problem as all of the staff that we met spoke fluent English (although we did do our best with the few Italian words that we know!) All areas of the hotel were clean and tidy and being the height of summer the air conditioning at times was appreciated! We are definitely going back to Sicily and when we do I am sure we will be staying in the same hotel!

Fantastic Terrace Great Central LocationPosted Aug 4, 2014
If you are looking for a great and friendly service in English than this this your Hotel. Add a fantastic central location as well as a breath taking Coffee/Break Fast Terrace with views of Mt. Etna now you got a fantastic stay. If I return to Catania this will be the place I would stay.

You can easily walk through the city.Very helpful and professional staff. Our room was on the 6th Floor but has no view unfortunately. Also it was a little bit small for two baggages :( But I can recommend it anyway . BREAKFAST is fair enough .

Excellent location, nice hotelPosted Jul 21, 2014
Una hotel palace is a great hotel to stay if you go to Catania. It's very close to every sightseeing location. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly, especially Rita from guest and quality management is great, she helped us a lot. I can stay there again if I go to Catania again. Only thing is breakfast can have more varieties such as omlettes, more cheese varities, etc.

Beautiful roof bar and lovely hotelPosted Jul 8, 2014
Una hotel was a pleasure to stay at, it made our stay in Catania worth the week we were there and loved coming back for cocktails at the Etnea roof bar before heading back to the room. We decided to go for an exec room which was well worth it with the free wifi and inclusive mini bar. Lovely spacious room on top floor so was very quiet. I also would recommend the breakfast at the roofbar for the Sicilian cooked breakfast, you can order as much as you like! It is an extra 10 euros but well worth it. I would certainly stay in an Una hotel again on my next city break

Great hotel in centre of townPosted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Spotless, nice furnishings, comfy bed, smiling staff.
Cons: The urn of hot water for tea at breakfast was tepid at best. Staff not really able to recommend good restaurants in the area. TV dated and fuzzy.
Location: Shopping! Plenty of bars and cheap tourist restaurants. Villa Bellini is a beautiful park very close by.
This is a beautifully furnished hotel, reasonably priced, right in the centre of Catania. The staff were very helpful on advising which tours would suit our needs. The staff smiled a lot, which is more than can be said for most other Sicilians in the service/tourist industry. The roof terrace is beautiful, although pricey for drinks compared to elsewhere, and service a little too slow.
