Beatiful BnB by the Sea
Beautiful BnB by the sea. We thouroghly enjoyed breakfast on the patio each morning and admired the garden courtyard. Everyone, including those in town, went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. Remember to get the Ortensia phone number to open the front gate.

Quaint Comfy Hotel
We really enjoyed our stay. It was a Rick Steves recommendation. The breakfast, which was extra, was very good and plentiful. We had a car and there was parking right in front of the hotel. I would stay there again.

Beautiful property full of antiques
Beautiful room furnished with antiques and art. Pretty small touches - beautiful bedding, marble-covered dressing tables, stone-clad shower walls. Handy kitchen and balcony for the guests disposal. Very comfy four poster bed. Breakfast paid separately - range of sweet bakes or cooked savoury breakfast on demand.

My husband and I visited Catania for 5 days. My Italian friend recommended us to stay away from central Catania so we looked for somewhere within reasonable distance from the airport (less than 30 minute drive). It's just under an hour drive to Taormina and to the meeting point at Mount Etna where we did excursion. The villa is so beautiful with a lovely garden. The area is quiet and near the sea. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Our room is so clean and tidy. Good selection of Sicilian breakfast too. They also provide private parking in a secure area which is important to us since we know vandalism is quite an issue there. We really feel safe to leave our car there. We had a very pleasant stay here. Recommend it!

Erminia was great and really helpful throughout our stay and the airport transfer we arranged was fab. Would definitely recommend staying here - if only for the freshly baked cakes at breakfast!

Pleasant vfm stay
We stayed a bit by accident due to some faulty map planning but it turned out to be a very pleasant first night in Sicily. Friendly and helpful hostess, charming little room felt very like staying as a house guest. Excellent value. Couple of relevant points though; it is not in the town itself - i would think a mile out - and it is very anonymous in the street, being behind big gates (get clear instructions before you go). That said there is a good bar/restaurant/pizzeria 200 yds away with sea views. Breakfast usually outside in garden. Cant entirely describe as the electric co dug up the road and turned the power off (so juicer/toaster etc out of action). Bathroom clean and worked and had hairdryer.

Nice B&B
We stayed here for our last night of 10-day Sicily trip. B&B is located close to the private beach, although the beach itself was not as nice as we excepted we enjoyed our stay here. Owners were vary nice and friendly. There is a cute little town Aci Castello nearby which offers a good selection of restaurants and places to eat out or have a drink.

Charming B&B!
We loved our stay at Villa Ortensia. The hosts were more than accommodating and lovely to be around. The location was great, there is an excellent beach club just at the end of the street. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Venligt værtspar, men ingen information ved ankomsten. Privat swimmingpool er en tilsnigelse, meget lille plastbassin ved naboen. Privat strand så vi intet til. Vi havde bestilt værelse med privat balkon, men fik et værelse med seperat balkon i forbindelse med fælles køkken. Ydermere var balkonen opbevaring for rengøringsmaterialer (koste, spande mm.). Ophold med morgenmad bestod af kagebord og havde intet med morgenmad at gøre. Kaffe og te i havneområdet var kun tilgængelig i forbindelse med morgenmaden og ryddet på alle andre tider. Ok, men heller ikke mere, da beskrivelse af stedet bestemt ikke lever op til virkeligheden.

Comodità per Congressi allo Sheraton Catania
posizione strategica vicino alla sede di molti congressi. A solo 4 minuti di comoda passeggiata in riva alla costa. Ottima colazione di alimenti tipici della zona da gustare, marmellate siciliane, dolci siciliani. Ottimo parcheggio su strada illuminata. Mezzi di trasporto urbani sotto casa per dirigersi in centro a Catania senza usare l'auto

Un weekend in relax tra mare e cultura
Ottima location per trascorrere qualche giorno in relax vicino a Catania e sulla direttrice per Aci , Giardini Naxos e Taormina. Camera pulita e arredata con gusto. Colazione casalinga e varia molto apprezzata. Ottimo il terrazzo per rilassarsi al sole anche in Dicembre.

Meglio di così non poteva andare: Erminia è una persona speciale, meravigliosamente solare, gentile e disponibile. Il posto è curato, il giardino bellissimo, le camere ben arredate e molto pulite, la colazione è buonissima! Lo consiglio senza ombra di dubbio e ci tornerò.

sehr hübsches b&b, empfehlen wir weiter. Vorallem das Frühstück im Garten ist wirklich wunderschön. Die Gastgeber sind auch sehr freundlich und haben immer einige Tips. Wir haben es sehr genossen.

Tre giorni di soggiorno per un congresso ad Acicastello. Usufruito di b&b per pernottamento e colazione ma pochissimo durante l'arco della giornata. Trovato facilmente, e facili le indicazioni di accesso e l'uso personale delle chiavi della struttura. Un po' difficile trovare personale in alcuni orari e pagari all'uscita con soli contanti.

Das B&B Villa Ortensia liegt an einem durch ein Tor von der Hauptstraße getrennten Privatweg. Die Zimmer im ersten Stock sind hübsch und zweckmäßig eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Frühstück gibt es auf der Terrasse, Rosaria und Erminia kümmern sich total süß und es bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Ich kam vormittags an und habe direkt noch ein zweites Frühstück bekommen. Obwohl ich kaum italienisch spreche, habe ich mich sofort willkommen gefühlt. Direkt gegenüber ist ein kostenpflichtiger Lido, den man als Gast der Villa Ortensia nutzen kann. Ich kann diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Mixed feelings.....
Wir, meine Frau und ich, waren fuer 4 Tage zu Gast im "Hotel Ortensia", was, im Endeffekt eine B&B Unterkunft ist. Das Haus liegt relativ ruhig an einer Privatstrasse, die mit einem Tor zur normalen Strasse abgeschottet ist. Unser Zimmer war recht klein und hatte einen kleinen Balkon mit Sicht auf den Aetna. Man kann den versuch erkennen, das Zimmer in einem bestimmten Stil einzurichten ( Modern, farbenfroh in Lindgruen, Pink und schwarz, mit Prints von Marilyn Monroe und Cathrine Hepburn an den Waenden), was aber letztendlich nicht 100%ig gelungen ist. Fruehstueck wird in einem Zimmer serviert, was wohl normalerweise als Wohnzimmer dient, mit einer Moeblierung zwischen Antiquariat und Troedelmarkt. Dagegen ist der Garten ein echter Hingucker. Da man bei schoenen Wetter auf der Terasse fruehstueckt, fuehlt man sich richtig wohl und "in Familie". Die "kleinen" Defizite des Zimmers werden aber mehr als wett gemacht durch die ueberaus freundliche und hilfsbereite Hausherrin Rosaria. Sehr liebenswuerdig,offen und herzlich. Letztendlich haben wir uns dort gut aufgehoben gefuehlt.

Giunto per un congresso ho casualmente scelto villa Ortensia in quanto vicina alla sede del congresso. Arrivo la sera e vengo frettolosamente accolto con alcune spiegazioni circa la gestione delle chiavi e gli orari. L'accesso al bagno è misterioso, scopro per caso che si entra dal terrazzino esterno! La mattina dopo la colazione nello splendido giardino cancella le perplessità iniziali e nei gg seguenti la cortesia della sig.ra Rosaria rende piacevole il soggiorno. Molto familiare, più che in albergo sembra di essere venuti in Sicilia a trovare dei parenti...

Impressions mitigées : pour les aspects négatifs : adresse quasi introuvable , personne ne répond au téléphone ( un fixe et 2 portables) - donc pas d'indication supplémentaire pour préciser le lieu de la villa- , à l'arrivée grille avec un digicode et toujours personne pour répondre à l'appel et quand enfin une personne de la résidence a ouvert la grille en nous laissant entrer , toujours personne pour répondre à la sonnerie de la porte d'entrée de la villa - la propriétaire étant tout simplement à la cave...et bien sûr , d'importants problèmes pour garer son véhicule sur cette route bordant la mer . Nous étions 3 adultes : chambre trop petite et sanitaire étroit .. Pour les aspects positifs , le lieu est calme la nuit et la propriétaire est charmante , bon petit déjeuner . Villa bien placée pour visiter la côte de la mer ionienne du nord au sud sans oublier l'Etna à proximité .

המיקום נח באזור ACICASTELO . הומלץ להשתמש בתחבורה ציבורית לקטניה אבל זו לא הייתה סדירה והסתדרנו עם הרכב ששכרנו. בעלת המלון ארחה למופת וסיפקה שפע הסברים והמלצות על האזור . ארוחת בוקר מעולה . מציע לשפר את ההסברים כיצד ניתן להגיע לבית מכיון שלא ברור מרחוב היכן המיקום המדויק. חניה ליד הבית .

Alt var perfekt, vi kan varmt anbefale stedet. Der var meget hyggeligt og meget "italiensk". Dejlig hjemmebagt Siciliansk kage hver eneste morgen. Man følte sig meget velkommen. Det var lidt svært at finde, når man ikke var kendt i området.
