Good retreat from hustle and bustle.
Close to Kingston and Hwy 87, thus convenient. Friendly host(s), a very pleasant stay. We were okay with no cell phone reception or TV because the wifi was fine, and we enjoyed this quiet getaway. Breakfast was tasty, artisan bread, large portions of fresh fruit. Restful and comfortable.

It's a potentially pretty property but it needs considerable work and daily attention. The owners were away and left it in the hands, one day, of a neighbor, who did her honorable best, and the other day in the hands of someone engaged for the purpose, who was inattentive and indifferent. If one cannot cover properly for a period of absence, one ought to close for that period. The condition of the house and the quality of the decoration are so-so at best. One can wish the owners well, and that they will invest in their property. Until then, there will be better choices.

We’re so sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. The week we were away, we employed three people who were very experienced and familiar with our bed and breakfast, who have worked here many years. You may have encountered a neighbor who came daily into our private apartment in order to feed our cat. (Our cat is not allowed into the bed and breakfast itself, but our neighbor had the key to enter via the bed and breakfast entrance). We have shared your review with our employees, and they are dismayed that their attempts to meet your requirements were described as inattention and indifference. On the last day of your stay you apparently let yourself into our apartment, and we will be reviewing security and the information we provide to guests, so that private and public areas are clearly divided, by more than the existing signage. The Groote Kamer room has been restored to its 18th century condition, and this is the room that provokes the widest range of reactions, from the best to the worst reviews; we assume some guests react with shock to something they haven’t previously encountered. Ongoing renovations will be taking place at the end of this year to repair the wide plank floor from heavy wear and tear, and to replace the antique washstand in the bathroom.

Authentic Stonehouse! Canopy bed, claw foot bathtub, Fresh cut flowers. Beautiful, peaceful grounds with nearby creek Enjoyed our picnic dinner on the porch. Coffee, herb teas, sparkling water & biscotti. Delicious homemade breakfast of smoked salmon eggs, granola, breads & fruit preserves, fresh fruit.

We really enjoyed our experience! We stayed in the Girl with the Peral Earring room which included its own private bathroom along with a beautiful canopy bed, working tv and a complimentary bottle of palegrino. The breakfast was very enjoyable- yogurt with fresh fruit and strawberries, coffee juice, bacon, 2 small pancakes and homemade bread with jams. My wi-fi did not work but we only stayed for 1 night. The jacuzzi tub is not really that but a bathtub with super loud jets. The facilities were nice and new.the sink faucet is too far away from the sink bowl and had to be used in full throttle for it not to make a mess. I would recommend staying here for the price. The owners and cat were all very sweet and accommodating. I slept wonderfully in the bed but my husband said his back hurt him.

nice getaway with the hubby.
The stay was really nice. The rooms were like stepping back in time (in a good way). The rooms were clean. The host was very pleasant and helpful. He made a very nice breakfast. His homeade bread was delicous! The Inn is in a nice centralized location to explore surrounding towns and attractions. You will have to drive everywhere though. Overall I was happy with our stay, but I would have added some seating outside to enjoy the view and weather. Adirondack chairs outisde the Groote Kramer room would have been a nice touch. The mattress could also use some updating. For one night it was ok, but by the second my back was aching. I recommend staying here :)

Sam was extremely helpful with showing us around his beautiful B&B, asked when we would like to enjoy breakfast in the morning and was very helpful in finding a place to have dinner that evening. Breakfast was excellent and very fresh (egg bake, homemade breads, coffee, OJ, etc). The entire place was very clean and inviting. Very clean bedroom and bathroom. We hope to return soon, however for a longer stay. Thanks!

This place was great. Cozy and old in a good way. The host was very nice and genuine. The room we picked had its own driveway and own entrance which was pretty cool. Worth every dollar. No complaints but just an issue. Not the end of the world. Breakfast was at 9am (perfect) but they served eggs mushrooms frittata. I don’t eat eggs and when they just served it without a choice I was surprised. I guess I expected them to ask or give a choice. Other wise it was a great location.

We had intended to stay in a different Inn but it was booked. We found the Stone Inn on hotels.com and loved it! Nadia and Sam were the perfect hosts and the room was comfy with a wonderful king size bed. Breakfast was great.

We enjoyed the opportunity to stay in this lovely stone house that displays many of the fine features of others in the region. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast included delicious homemade granola, bread and an egg dish. It was a hearty start for the day. The owners were happy to accommodate our schedules and make our visit a happy one.

This was a fantastic B&B. We loved how historic it was, the proximity to great restaurants and the fabulous full breakfast. We met other travelers over breakfast and enjoyed their company. The hosts couldn't have been friendlier.

Historic house with charm & modern conveniences
The Stone House Bed & Breakfast is lovely, comfortable and well-run. It's got only six guest rooms, two with king beds and four queens, but each room has its own bathroom. The breakfast was tasty and generous, with fresh fruit, frittata, homemade bread and granola. I'd gladly stay at the Stone House again!

Lovely b&b,great staff, who paid lots of attention to homemade breakfast. Some eggs or other protein at breakfast would have been great.

Thank you for your feedback. We have eggs or other protein nearly everyday, but also rotate dishes especially when other guests are staying for several days, so that we sometimes have waffles for variety. We welcome guests making special dietary requests before their stay.
