A shorter walk than other more expensive hotels, Value for MoneyPosted Aug 15, 2011
Villa Karacic is at the end of a cul-de-sac in the lower part of Cavtat. You can take a short cut through the Iberostar hotel. The apartments do have lots of steps but the owners and daughter are very friendly. Mum speaks limited English but the daughter is fluent. These apartments are half the price of others featured but believe me are a much easier walk. Many of the more expensive you need to be prepared to be a mountain goat to return to up hair pin bends traversed by buses , coaches and motorbikes as there is no pavement. The apartments have a view of the mountains and cypress trees. It is on the direct flightpath into Cilipi , Dubrovnik airport which we didn't mind and starts at 6am and final flight is about 11pm. If you want sun, somewhere to sleep that is safe then these apartments are fine. One other strange thing is that you have to share a kettle, and firdge with 2/3 other rooms and they could really do to purchase kettles and cups and saucers for every room. Note payment is on the last day and is in cash Kuna so be prepared for this.Despite this we had a lovely holiday, Cavtat is lovely nearest beach is at the Iberostar complex of hotels. Take a trip to Dubrovnik by boat and try the super black ice cream when you get off in Dubrovnik its very! nice. Other trips Lokrum by boat from Cavtat are excellent and the "Dead Sea" plus you must take the cable car in Dubrovnik and visit the Museum to the Balkan War of the 90's a sobering experience.
