“plan to return”

nice clean hotel, friendly service.breakfast was ok, not great.beds and pillows were horrid.bed so so uncomfortable.took a nice river walk, loved it, a big highlight of our trip.we were in columbia for the riverbanks zoo and the hotel was convienently located only 4 miles away.plenty of dining options are near by as well.overall the hotel was well worth what we paid, and i would return in the future.

“Would stay here again”

For an independent motel, the Riverside Inn was an excellent place and a good value. It is convenient to the Congaree River Greenway for walking and sight-seeing, although you have to cross a busy thoroughfare to get there. The room was simple and not particularly up-to-date, but clean, and the neighborhood seemed safe. My destination was the University of South Carolina, which was a five-minute drive, and the Riverside Inn is located on the road between the Columbia airport and the University. The staff was friendly and courteous and very helpful with dinner recommendations. The continental breakfast left much to be desired from a culinary perspective, but I was able to have a bite to eat and some coffee and be on my way with no fuss. I would stay here again and bring my family.

“Best Cheap Hotel Near Downtown”

Great place to stay on game day. within walking distance from campus. cheap and virtually unheard of... and no there are no drug dealers or prostitutes out side. Very understanding and courteous staff, have stayed there for almost 7 nights and this point and it is always the cheapest place to stay when i come down to visit old classmates or for gameday.

“Great hotel for the price”

This hotel isn't a grand 5 star star hotel, but it was clean, the people were extremely friendly, it was in a GREAT location, there are plenty of places to eat (Lizard's Thicket is great if you like southern food). The continental breakfast is actually really good. I highly suggest using a GPS because the streets in Columbia are a little hard to follow using a map. Overall this hotel was perfect for what we wanted.

“We continue to return time after time”

While not the newest lodging facility and perhaps not within walking distance to downtown or shopping, we continue to return to the Riverside Inn every time we visit our son in Columbia, SC. Our first visit was when he was a freshman at the University and we took advantage of their discounts. The Inn is quiet and located very conveniently to the riverwalk with plenty of free parking and a wonderful pool. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the continental breakfasts are terrific. Sure, the place could use some updating, but then the rate might increase as well. We're very comfortable there as it's almost become a second home for us.

“Great/inexpensive place to stay”

Very nice place to stay and convenient to the downtown and Vista areas. Also very affordable. Not a resort, but I didn't go to stay in the room all the time. Rooms are clean and a breakfast buffet is offered as well. I will always stay here when I visit Columbia, SC.

“Great bargain for game weeks”

This small, independently owned hotel was the perfect find for the UF - SC football game. It is an old hotel but it has character (a putting green?), is well maintained and has a competent staff. Plus free breakfast. Again, nothing fancy, but for 1/2 the price of the other hotels, this was an excellent value. We will definitely check it out again for return visits.

“Quaint”

Besides the fact that the hotel is out of date, everything worked and everything was especially clean for the age of the hotel. It was a deal and I would stay there again if I'm ever up in that area again.

“Would go back again”

The location was only a couple of miles to State Fairgrounds and William Brice Stadium for the football game - USC Gamecocks. The Motel was older and a bit outdated. Ice machines didn't work. I stayed in two different rooms for one night each and both were clean and bug free. Everything in the room was in working order with plenty of hot water. Due to the location and price, I would stay there again in the future.
