“Nice Time at the Cayucos Beach Inn”

Overall, a good stay. Rooms are kept clean and staff is attentive. The continental breakfast each morning leaves much to be desired and could use some fruit and real coffee. Great location.

“Excellent choice for a family beach get away”

Even though this is not right on the beach, it was a short walk from the beach and town. The amenities were great, in room frig & mircowave with separate sink area. Grill & tables outside. Loved the memory foam mattress on the bed!!!

Good location, nice complimentary breakfast room, large motel rooms with refrigerator/kitchenette area. A short walk to the center of town, access to many restaurants and easy walk to beach.

“Stayin in Cayucos”

Though not cheap, staying in Cayucos, I was very pleased with this hotel. The bed, Temperpedic were very comfortable. The room was very big and had a separate living room area. Stayed two days and no complaints. Very near the beach and more importantly very close to The Cass House Restaurant.

Dining

The Cass House Restaurant is excellent with top class food. If you are interested in big portions or eat at corporate restaurants this place is not for you. If you eat at the best restaurants and appreciate fine dining this place is for you. The food is innovative, fresh ingredients and beautifully executed. The prices are very reasonable in comparison to Los Angeles to top flight restaurants.

“Most relaxing 3 days in years”

(Aug, 2011) My wife and I left the kids at grandma's and escaped to Cayucas for a few days in hopes of doing NOTHING but walking the beach and reading some books. We found the Cayucas Beach Inn on expedia, looked it over and read the reviews and gave it a shot. WE LOVED IT. Although we wanted a King suite, we got upgraded to the John Miller suite. If you got the extra $$, I'd recommend this room. The Inn does their best to make your stay feel like home. Seperate living room with 2 comfy recliners, bathroom, bedroom, preproom. it was like our own apartment with kitchen, sink, microwave, and fridge. 2 TV's, pink towels, and friendly room service. 5 minute walk to beach with public access as well. Free wifi internet service, a must for us. It was posted that not all rooms have this yet, but ours did (above the office and their router). The continental breakfast was milk, juice, pastries, cereal, bagels and toast (with butter and cream cheese). Of all the hotels in the area, the Cayucas Beach inn looked the most kept, clean, and new. It is also a 10 minute walk from the more touristy part of town, so you're away from the tourist areas, but close enough to walk too. Try Martin's for dinner. Just five minute walk up Ocean St. Looks like a hole in the wall on the outside, absolutely awesome on the inside. BIG portions. Homemade Italian and Mexican food. Great combination! Skippers dbl bacon CB for lunch! We will definately stay again.

Area recommendations

Everything you want to do in Cayucas is within walking distance of the Beach Inn. The beach is not the prettiest of beaches, lots of seaweed and crab shells, with rocks in the water, but its great to walk back and forth on. A dozen places to eat. We enjoyed Martin's (Mexican/Italian). Martin's didn't look like much on the outside but the inside was awesome with HUGE portions of homemade food. Skippers had a great Double Bacon Cheesburger special and that burger was tasty (cash only here though). Plenty of public beach access stairways as well. One directly west of the hotel Don't forget the Brown Butter cookie shop at the end of North Ocean. EXPENSIVE cookies, but oh.....so..... good...

Dining

Martin's Mexican/Italian Restaurant on Ocean. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but you'll be surprised by the inside. The portions were huge. My wife had the Flauta combo and could only finish one of the two on her plate they were so large. She said her soup was the best she's tasted and she's Mexican. I'm Italian and loved the chicken parmesian with pasta. The sauce tasted homemade and the chicken wasn't just a small portion but a full double breast, lightly breaded. Great place to eat dinner with very friendly service. They'll even give you a history of the restaurant. Credit cards accepted. Skippers on the west side of ocean street is a comfy little diner who showcased a delicious double bacon cheesburger combo special. Big burgers!! nice place for lunch, friendly service, but cash only...

“Promises were not kept”

The hotel was well maintained and cute but did not keep their promise to accommodate my elderly mother in law's need to have a first floor room nor the request to have our 2 rooms near each other; both of which were clearly articulated in our room request and both of which they assured us the day after we made the reservation would not be a problem.

“Great experience in Cayucos”

I'm a person who likes clean rooms, good service and well kept grounds. The Cayucos Beach Inn provided all of them. I would recommend and stay there again. With that being said, there are a few things I would consider needing some attention or upgrading: 1. Continental Breakfast 2. The bed could have been a little more comfortable The above are not complaints but rather things I could see getting better.

“Great dog friendly hotel”

Very friendly and quick check in. Was given towel and blanket for our dog. Has special area to wash off dogs after the beach. Continental breakfast just OK.

“Great for dogs and their people too!”

This is the ideal location for dog owners. Everything is convenient when you have a pup. The whole area is very pet friendly!
