“BUFFET BREAKFAST?!”

I was shocked at the quality of the room we stayed. It's old and bare. The walls have cracks. The a/c is not working well. When we ask for a bucket of ice, the first request arrived 40minutes later. When we requested for another one, it didn't arrived at all. This is a bad choice of hotel if you have a connecting flight to another city or country since this hotel is located 1 hour away from the airport. When we went downstairs, we were shocked that the buffet breakfast is nowhere to be found. We were told to order from the menu and that's it. We didn't get what we paid for. We will never go back to this property again unless they made changes to their hotel walls and services.

“great hotel for the price”

This hotel was better than average for the price per night. I would definitely stay here since it was the closest hotel to my gf's apartment. What set this hotel apart was the staff. They were extremely pleasant and always there to help. Bersie at the front dest was always there to assist with a smile on her face. The breakfast wasnt a buffet, but one still had many choices on the menu and it was complimentary. I miss this place already and can't wait to go back. All the guys and gals at the restaurant made this hotel worth while for me. A very short taxi ride from Ayala center also.

“Overpriced for its location and convenience”

The hotel is located far from the airport and situated in a hilly residential area with a sense of isolation. The taxi ride from the airport cost close to 300 pesos, and takes about 40 minutes to get there, depending on the traffic condition. The room is dark due to small window opening. The room has dim light bulbs for desk lamps. There are stain marks on the walls in the room as if the room has not been painted for at least 10 yrs. At the very least, they could have cleaned off the stain marks on the wall. When we took a taxi to go out from the hotel, the security guard had to bring a taxi in and he demanded compensation from the taxi driver. When the taxi driver refused, he slammed the door hard to upset the taxi driver. On the positive side, the room is spacious, and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is good. The hotel and restaurant staffs are courteous and pleasant. Overall, I think the hotel is overpriced because of its association with the brand Crown Regency.

We hired a driver for a full day tour (about 6-7 hr) with multiple stops in Cebu and Mactan island for various tourist attractions for about 3000 pesos. We stopped in Lapulapu city fish market for dinner with the fresh catch from the sea. Very reasonably priced dinner.

“Good value, excellent breakfast”

I will give you one best and one worst on this hotel. The best was the breakfast. The food was always quick, hot, and tasty...excellent job kitchen and wait staff. The worst was the pool. Evidently the filter system was not operating correctly, the water was not being circulated and the pool was down several times being treated....however the pool and surroundings were beautiful...I just was not able to enjoy it.

Getting around
It's not the easiest place to travel about. I was lucky to have a local friend take me touring. The roads are crazy...do not attempt to drive yourself around...do not rent a car...use the taxi service.

“Cebu's hidden secret”

This hotel in for me is a 5 star if you are looking for the same things as I was looking for. The negative. Me and my companion had two adjacent rooms, very clean, one room has no hot water, the other, no cold water. We shower in the cold water, so hot outside anyways. Sink does not drain well. Small sink in my room practicaly useless. The positive, the room opens to a veranda like atmosphere, it has a rattan desk and chair where we can relax at night with wine and snacks very romantic. The hotel staff, is short of terrific, extremely accomodating, the service at our free breakfast is just fantastic. I bring my laptop and do some work while waiting for my food. Hotel swimming pool keeps my kids occupied. For lunch and dinner, right outside the hotel, there is small local restaurant where the food is just plain excellent and cheap. Close by is a grocery store, you can buy snacks, sodas or wine to bring to the hotel. The grocery have the best rate on dollar money exchange. Cebu is known for their Lechon by CNT, just next to the restaurant is a CNT outlet, you can reserve in advance for a good meal of lechon. If you are a filipino, who likes balut, every 9:00pm outside the hotel, an old lady sells fresh hot balut. Taxi is available anytime. Only approx 175 pesos to SM mall. If these are the things you are looking for in a hotel, excellent staff, convenience you can find nowhere and cheap, then I highly recommend this place. My stay was definitely worth it.

Area recommendations
We went to this place called "Tops", where you can see the entire cebu city. A very high place. Cost us 600 pesos for the taxi and 150 pesos to get in. Its better to go at night.
When to go
I dont recommend rainy season. It starts from July to Dec I think.
Getting around
Taxi is my preferred method, its readily available and reasonable. However, be carefull during rush hour, traffic could be horrendous.
Shopping
SM or Ayala mall is definitely the place to go.

“Cebu Secret”

This hotel was reasonably priced and in a good location. The free breakfast was excellent the staff was very kind and friendly, the condition of the hotel was well maintained and offered a nice view from the rooftop garden. Nice inexpensive restaraunt at entrance to hotl, 10 min taxi ride to mall and major restaraunts. Very well priced for the budget traveler, highly recommend this hotel will stay there again.

“We enjoyed our stay here.”

We were happy with our stay at this hotel; although the taxi driver took us to another Cebu Regency and we had to get another cab to get here. It was not entirely the driver's fault as he asked an employee of the other hotel if it was the correct one and he said it was! The rates were reasonable and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfasts. The staff was very helpful and glad to assist.

Area recommendations
I'd recommend the Royal Concourse for dinner. They have an excellent buffet and it is reasonably priced. We really enjoyed the food and the drinks are included! They open about 6 in the evening. I also enjoy the Ayala Mall.
Must see
I'd make the trip to Panglao by fast ferry and visit the Bohol Bee Farm and take their countryside tour to the Chocolate Hills. The food at the Bee Farm is awesome!

“This is a good OK type of Hotel with good manners clean room , good TV , hot showers.”

We had a 21 days stay and everyone in the Hotel was curtious and polite. The rooms are clean. Had to ask for toilet paper twice. Hotel Restaurant is extremely expensive so we ate out at the Alya, and SM mall all we could. Restaurant serves excellent food but not much of it. They do have a free safe. But found everyone to be honest here. Cab service was excellent. 90 peso will get you to the malls. Swimming pool was clean but chilly. Not heated. We did have to ask to have the toilet cleaned. But overall its a good place to stay. Some high school kids made alot of noise after midnight and had to call the desk to get the kids to quite slamming the door. Should of never had to do that

Area recommendations
Ayala Mall and SM malls are both huge and have great places to eat plus hundreds of modern stores to shop. Taxie service runs about 60 to 95 peso's so it cheap and you can go often to the malls. Things to see:Magelens cross, Mactan Shrine, Mactan island Aquarium is ok but not great. The Crown Regency Tower is a nice place where you can go up to the top 40 floors and see the City at night and eat up there too. Boat trip is 4 to 5 hours long at Tambuli beach goes to Caohagan Island drink coconut juice right out of the nut. About 75 US dollars but worth it. Don't go to the sea restaurant for sea food its not that good and extremely expensive a total rip off. Fort San Pedro is ok to see and not that expensive. Have fun as the people are just great. Good place to Eat is Gerry's Restaurant in both malls. Not expensive and you get alot for your money. Have fun.

“OK Hotel not a 4 star at all”

The hotel location is what made it convenient for me but the price is too high for what you get, the bathrooms need more maintenance, for example I stayed in room 341 and no hot water came out of the shower, fortunately I don't mind cold water, I also stayed in room 250 and the toilet is constantly leaking water so the hissing noise of the water is annoying but closing the door reduces the noise.

Traveler's tip
the restaurant just outside the hotel is good and cheap
