“my trip to Cebu”

Hotel located in area that was central to other areas just as malls. Room was cleaned every day and house keeping maded sure you had any requests were available such as extra hangers, towels, etc. Front desk personnel were very nice and helpful. Resturant was nice and service was excellent. When I return to Cebu I would stay at the Diplomat Hotel Again

“A true Gem”

Fantastic hotel for the money. Staff excellent, food good, room spotless. Cebu blows away Manila.

Area recommendations
I thought the area of the hotel was fine, but hired a cab driver for 3 days. He charged us about $50.00 / day for the car, gas, and his knowledge of the city. It was well worth the money. His English was not perfect but we did well enough.
Must see
Taoist temple, Sky ride...oh my God. and the Kawani (sp?) Falls in southern Cebu. But if you go to the falls do not hire a guide, not worth the money. Go all the way to the top.

“Of all 4 hotels I went, the Diplomat was the best. I also stayed in Cagayan de Oro, Valencia, Manil”

Very cool people and always smiling, when I got to the hotel. Everything so closed to that hotel and very safe. Malls, places to eat and entertainment. One day, I went out at 12:00 am to buy food by myself with no problem. Streets are safer than Manila. The hotel also has various massage terapists which I used twice for my bad back and only for 350 pesos, that is less than 10 dollars for two hours. They have two computer that you can use for pennies. For food, I used to go to Joliebee or go to the Malls. Water was hot or cold and I never had any problem. There are Taxis outside the hotel waiting for you in case you want to go to places. I do recommend it to anyone...even people with families.

Area recommendations
Cebu is alot better than Manila...I will say 75% better safer, specially the the area I was close to the Hotel Diplomat.

“Best hotel in the area and reasonable.”

Booked a flight and hotel accommodations on this trip. Of course flying to PI meant too many security checks. Long layover in Manila to and from Cebu. Other than that everything went well.

Area recommendations
When traveling to Cebu, its probably best to get a hotel closest to SM Mall/City. There are a number of things to do in that area.

“good location, very nice for the price”

The room was very nice for the price. Was very satisfied with my room. The location is close to malls, and resturants. Within an hour drive to beaches and boat rides. Staff was very friendly and room service was prompt. I would diffenitley go to this hotel again.

Area recommendations
Moalboal. Has some of the best scuba diving in the area.
Nightlife
Was impressed with the quality of the talent at "SUNFLOWERS" disco. Very entertaining, had a great couple of times there.

“Cebu Philippines Diplomat Hotel for the BUDGET traveler- GREAT DEAL”

I have read some of the critical reviews of this hotel. Look it's a discount hotel for a very, very, very reasonable rate, personally I think the VALUE was 5star. For the price and for the amenities offered this was a very good deal. I found the restaurant/room service acceptable (variety; quality of food); the staff was great from the front desk to house keeping to the security to the maintenance staff that came with in two minutes to repair my shower. I would stay here if I need to budget, my stay this time was for 12 days. The location was with in a shopping and light business district, I felt safe. I had no issues at all. Take care and don't believe all the negative comments of cheap people probably with unrealistic expectations. Sometimes in life you have to make the best out of your situation. But I had no negative experiences with the hotel. For my last two days in the Philippines, I flew to Manila and checked into a 5 Star property for ten times more per night that was also a great deal that exceeded all of my expectations. Good Luck, execchefwalt

Area recommendations
I really enjoy Manila, I like urban and fast pace. Cebu has nice areas especially Mactan near the SM mall. Also the water fall area down south about 3hours.

“Great central location in Cebu City”

Hotel about as expected. It's a good value for the price. Curb appearance and lobby look fine. Elevators slow, but not a problem at all. The only complaint I have is the room smelled like smoke and they told me entire hotel is smoking. Luckily the halls are open to atmosphere so we could air it out. I would recommend this hotel for those on a limited budget. The location is excellent within safe walking distance to just about anything you may need. On-site restaurant had good breakfast for good price. The girls enjoyed the on-site spa for massages and manicures at a great price. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and served us with a smile.
