“Business Travel”
Marriott is very close the I.T. Park which is where most offices are. It's also right beside the mall.
“OK”
Great location, but tired hotel.
“The Marriott in Cebu was a pleasurable stay.”
I was very much satisfied with my stay at the Marriott in Cebu city, Philippines. The hotel was in very good condition and the service was top notch. I was treated with respect and any concerns were addressed professionally and promptly. This review might sound like it is written by someone who has an interest in the hotel but I can assure you I was just a guest who was totally impressed and pleased with my stay there. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who can afford to stay there. Security was also very good with a metal detector for anyone entering the hotel. The location was also very convenient for shopping, eating and utilizing the atm machines. My hats off to the folks who work and operate at the hotel. Thanks for making my stay a pleasurable and memorable visit. I will definitely consider another stay if I am to go to Cebu in the future again.
“Not "value for money".”
During my 9 night stay my peace and quiet was constantly interrupted by construction noises outside, plumbing maintenance noises inside the corridor, noise from adjoining guest rooms, and housekeeping staff carrying out checks of status of room, mini-bar checks etc. Small room and high costs of room rate, high cost for internet, breakfast, restaurant, bar etc makes this accomodation poor value-for-money for an ageing hotel; I was lucky I got discount rates by booking through "Expedia" instead of directly through Marriott.
“Next to Ayala Mall”
I've stayed at this hotel several times and each time the overall experience is good. Bad points about the hotel include the food (English muffins for breakfast hard as rocks) and the towels that should have been replaced before fraying. Live music by the pool daily in the evenings is a plus and the pool is well maintained. There is also a nice variety of exercise equipment in the basement level. The best part of the hotel was its immediate vicinity to Ayala Mall for shopping, movies and restaurants. Every day Ayala Mall provided most of what I needed. It was especially handy to avoid the food at the Marriott, as well as the poor drink service at the tables around the pool.
“Not the quality of a Marriott Hotel that I expected.”
Stayed there from April 3 -10, 2010 and was totally disappointed with the stay. When we got there, the room was extremely dusty, I had to wipe off the dust from the phone and requested that the room re-dusted because my allergies acted up 10 mins. after I got into the room. The cabinet door was dark wood and you will see the dust right away. The headboard was a dust magnet and more than likely not getting cleaned. Everyday, I was requesting the the room be vacuumed cleaned, but was not cleaned most of the time. The hallway to that floor was not getting vacuumed, as indicated by the dust and dirt on the floor. I was just so tired of complaining so I just took anti-histamine. The staff was cordial but not friendly. If the room was not pre-paid, I would have moved to the Waterfront in a heartbeat. What can I say...It was just located next to Ayala, and the Cebu Spa ...other than that, there is nothing to say about this place. I had big expectations since this was a Marriott hotel but this one is a MEDIOCRE.
“Well Recommended”
Impressive hotel, the looks, Customer Servce, Maintenance, Room Service, Security, Guarded Pool, Buffet is excellent - great food, fresh juices made in front of customers, Car rental services in Hotel Lobby, next door shopping mall...what else could you ask for? Higly recommended, will surely reserve same. Only flaw - does not service customers pick-up ride from airport to hotel or vice versa w/c is very unusual for a 5 star hotel like Marriott to not having one.
“average hotel at best only plus adjacent to nice mall”
disappointed that hotel tried to charge me $8 usd for wiping water from the floor with a old worned hand towel and getting it dirty .housekepping stated i had destroyed hotel property.if floor had not been that dirty it would not have gotten so dirty when i wiped water from the floor so i would not slip in bathroom.only reversed charges after i asked to speak to manager on duty and complained about the charge.had stayed there for 4 days we checked out next day and moved to hilton in mactan island which was far superior to marriott cebu. also area around marriott has too much traffic.hilton much more relaxing and surrouned by beautiful beach for basically the same price.marriott cebu is average 3 star at best.
“Great hotel but the rooms are dusty”
The hotel was great but the rooms were very dusty. Its right in front of ayala mall with plenty of places to eat and shop.
“This Hotel Made The Difference”
After a three hour delay at the airport and a short stay in Cebu, this hotel complimented the trip.
