Pros: leaving !!!!!!!!
Cons: a major overhaul, this hotel does not live up to it's current star rating at best this is a 3 star at worse 2 star !!!!!!!!
This hotel boasts about being the premier hotel in the business district of Cebu, this maybe in age but not in star rating...this hotel is badly in need of a "makeover". I am a world business traveller who is accustomed to exacting standards of 4-5 star hotels. I have travelled throughout Asia normally staying at the Shangrila chain hotels. I have visited Cebu on 4 occasions, normally staying at the Raddison Blu or when vacationing at the Shangrila Mactan. I chose the Marriot because of its location to the Terrace where there are numerous good restaurants to eat.. When arriving at the hotel I was immediately struck how dated it looked ... I was really disappointed to see how small and bland the lounge area is. My disappointment continued when I saw the shabbiness of the room. The condition was extremely depressing. The smoke stained paint on the wall still had the smell of stale tobacco when it was obviously a smoking room. the carpet like the furniture was 80's style the bathroom consisted on a combined shower/ bath which is certainly not up to 4-5 star standards in hotel's in Asia. The pool area was a disgrace an extremely small pool which was impossible to enjoy a relaxing swim without constantly stopping. Limited sun loungers that had no shade from the sun that were always occupied which led to the majority of people sitting on their bath towels around the pool completely unacceptable..... I was booked into the hotel for 8 days. After the 5th day I checked out!!!!!!!

Central locationPosted Aug 24, 2014
Pleasant few days spent at the Marriot. The breakfast has a reasonable choice in its buffet. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The hotel itself is looking a little dated and tired but i could not fault the staff or the service they provided.

Great Location and good servicePosted Jul 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
We have stayed at this hotel for 21 days or more over the last 3 years. Always found the staff to be excellent. The breakfast can get a bit boring and the buffet dinner should you decide to take up the promo that is offered.

Walking distance from ayala mallPosted May 20, 2014
Pros: Walking distance to the mall
Cons: Crowd controll
Hotel was a bit crowded during my stay. Need crowd control specially in the lobby. The hotel had other meetings/ conferences and attendees were crowding the lobby. Wifi does not work in the room

It is not bad but not good. It is quite old and needs to be upgraded.

Best StaffPosted Feb 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel staff was probably the most courteous , cordial, and accommodating hotel staff I have had. I have stayed in many 5 star resorts and I received more smiles and warmth for my first stay in the Philippines and from the staff. I have a call center there and will always stay at the Cebu Marriott. Thanks to Christian, Ramil, Brian, Big Mark, and all the others.
