It was located near the freeway exit.

Check in was at 2:00, but when I showed up at 2:15 no one was there. When I came back at 3:00, still there was no receptionist. I had an event to attend and didn't get back to the hotel till 1:30am. That's when I finally checked in. It would have been nice to have been able to skip the checkin part that late at night.

Avoid this place

Posted Jan 21, 2015
Pros: Room
Cons: Finish the renovation.
Location: Most of downtown shuts down Sunday night. If you want to be near restaurants, stay near the interstate.
The hotel appeared to be in the process of being gutted. There were old sofas in the parking lot and the lot was in terrible shape. The room was OK. When I returned in the evening there was a guy sitting on one of the discarded sofas. The pen and paper supplied were Best Western logos, a hotel next door.

Not even worth the low price paid !

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: Nothing.
The hotel is very outdated. Gross carpet. Tiny tv. Parking was not near rooms. Had to walk through a maze just to find the room. No elevators. There was no front desk receptionist. Just a sign that said to go next door to the Best Western to check in. The receptionist at that hotel was completely rude and very unhelpful.

Asked for extra pillow. Staff did not have.

Attached to best Western and had to ring best western to get service. Thst of understandable as it is low season in winter. They advertise pool but the pool is outdoor and freeze in winter. The free breakfast was ok but not as good as most. Other than a bunch of carbs, they just had cold boiled eggs instead of scrambled eggs and sausage.

Breakfast was in next store hotel. Hard to get to and overcrowded. Poor food. Bad coffee.

A reasonable hotel

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: The staff, the room was clean and the price was very modest. Of the rooms that we stayed in on our trip, this was the BEST overall value.
Cons: Shower head in room 319 could use some attention.
Location: For us the location was great. We were just passing through and the hotel was very close to restaurants and what we needed.
We were on a 2000 mile winter trip. We stayed at the Stratford one night and to say the least we were VERY pleased. The hotel is a little older but well maintained. Our room had new granite vanity counters and fixtures. The room was modest, clean and comfortable. Of the four hotels that we stayed in on our trip we would rate the Stratford as the best overall, nicest staff, cleanest and the most reasonably priced.
