The room was okPosted Nov 4, 2013
We stayed for a weekend to go to canton. The small bathroom had only one tiny bar of soap to use..no soap on the vanity. Bed and bath linens didn't look very clean...bath wash cloths were very thin and worn....looked like they had some makeup stains from previous users. The staff was very friendly..ok for short stay.

Not impressedPosted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was nothing like the pictures showed and was very very outdated. The room was orange and blue stripps painted on the wall and no lamps, see through curtians over windows had to take the cover off the bed and hang over the window for privacy while sleeping. The a/c was off took 3 hrs to cool off. I will not recommend this place there is a holiday inn express and a comfort in a rocks through away This place is not worth the stay. I had to ring the bell and call the phone 4 times to get service when arriving

Quaint HotelPosted Jul 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a lovely little hotel close to everything you would want to see in Athens, TX. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, but a bit dated. The breakfast is basically cereal and toast. Overall it is a good place to stay if you are not looking for any frills.

Close to Canton Tx First Monday Trade DaysPosted Jul 1, 2013
Pros: rate and location
Cons: normal repairs and the proper amount of towels
Location: this is about 20 miles from the Trade Days we wanted to go to and could not find a café for breakfast.
The room was ok but there was only 1 towel I face towel and 2 wash cloths the tub was chipped and the toilet was about to come off the floor, had to unscrew light blub to watch TV as the plug for the TV was on the same circuit as the light, the drapes was falling down, I had to use a safety pin to close them so no one could see in the room. There is not a security lock on the door. I am not normally critical I usually will book a room that is rated about 3*** I have never felt I needed luxury when you are seldom in the room. When we called to get another towel no answer on the phone and when I went down to get one the office was locked up and no answer at 6:30AM I do not know what time the Continental Breakfast took place so we went somewhere else and ate. I hope to save others from this experience.

much nicer than expectedPosted Jun 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
We come though Athens quite often and will be definitely be staying there again.. The owners work hard to make the Motel nice and we noticed them working on repainting and small repairs throughout the day amd night.
