Our stay here was a pleasant surprise. It far exceeded my expectations of a hotel in Cedar Rapids. The hotel was immaculate. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The staff were courteous, warm, and welcoming. I would definitely recommend.

I have paid a lot more for a hotel not as nice. I got in late, the clerk greeted by my first name and said we have been waiting for you. The breakfast was a lot nicer than I expected. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable and the location was near the interstate. No complaints whatsoever.

This was a very pet friendly hotel, lots of dogs, but we never HEARD them. The bed was very comfortable. The rooms were teenager clean, which was a little disconcerting when I found things housekeeping missed (former occupant's washcloth drying on shower rod, strange splats on wall by sink, mold on shower curtain, hairs behind door). The hairdryer was broken, and when I reported it to housekeeping, they took it away, but did not replace it. Housekeeping service was intermittent. The "continental" breakfast was juice, coffee, toast, and fruit if you were there early enough.

Set downtown just blocks from the Cedar River is the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, with over 5,600 pieces of art that include the world's largest collection of works by Cedar Rapids' own Grant Wood. Across the river is Veterans Memorial Stadium--home to the Cedar Rapids Kernels baseball team--as well as the Czech Village, an area centered around the city's Czech, Moravian, and Slovak heritage.
