Adequate, comfortable stayPosted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: comfortable friendly clean
Cons: Noisy AC/heating unit Needs an update to decor
Location: Pretty great location for not being in the heart of Iowa City. Very close to the new gigantic Coraville Ridge Mall, plenty of shopping, and eateries.
We stayed for several days while house shopping in the area. While the hotel wasn't as updated as some others, it was well maintained and actually really comfortable. I was surprised that the beds were far more comfortable than some of the more updated hotels in the area. Has a nice entry with a fireplace and breakfast area. Similar free breakfast to other hotels. Staff was very friendly. Great hotel for someone on a budget. Only con was AC/heating unit was a older, so it made a fair amount of noise turning off and on. However, the hotel itself was well soundproofed.

Great Place to Stay for a FamilyPosted Apr 8, 2014
This hotel was a real value. Great Facilities - clean and comfortable - and pleasing. Great Indoor Pool. Good rates. It is convenient to all kinds of Iowa City area attractions. There was also a large selection of dining options nearby.

Dont care for customersPosted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Not a thing
Cons: Customer satisfaction
Location: We were traveling to live with parents in Michigan. So we were not looking at anything. Just our crappy room
We booked this hotel through Expedia. Booked a 2 queen bed room for our family of 4. When we got there we find out that our room was given to 2 people who wanted to change their room. So our family of 4 got a room with one bed a sofa sleeper and charged a suite price. And not just once. Many times.. Had to call our bank for fraud as we kept getting more charges. Sure puts a sour taste in your mouth for AmericInns

Just okPosted Mar 3, 2014
If you are just looking for a cheap place to sleep then this hotel will work. Our room had a funky smell to it. The breakfast was ok, I figured there would be eggs at least. The location is pretty good.

Met our needs.Posted Feb 3, 2014
Hot tub not working, and bed was not very comfortable. Other than that, the stay was enjoyable and meet our needs. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Older AmericinnPosted Jan 31, 2014
Pros: The location was pretty convenient.
Cons: Please be sure that the housekeepers properly stock each room (towels, etc.). The clerk at front desk had trouble finding our reservation.
Location: Though it was about 5 miles outside of Iowa City, it turned out to be quite easy to get to campus activities (stadium, Carver Hawkeye Arena)
When we arrived, there were no hand towels in the room. Though it was obviously an older Americinn facility, it was sufficient for a one-night stay.

Pros: The inn was close to the University and to shopping and had easy access to points of interest outside the town.
Location: The location was close to I-80. It is always fun to be around The University of Iowa. We also visited the Amana Colonies, Kalona, and Cedar Rapids.
The employees were very friendly. The room was nice and clean.
