Convenient - Close to airport

Pros: That is was clean and fresh
Cons: Nothing
Location: No comment as didn't leave the building.
Staff were helpful and accommodating. Newly renovated room - felt fresh and was clean. Love the free airport shuttle starting at 5:00 AM. Overall good experience.

Horrible from the beginning to the end.

When we arrived they did not have our reservation. It took 45 mins on the phone to figure out, it was there the whole time. Then a 3:16 am the fire alarm went off. We had to go outside in the rain for 30 mins. We get back to our room, get back to sleep, and it goes off again.

Close to airport/free shuttle

My stay was nice, the front desk staff was AWESOME! Two young women with the name of Heather were so kind. My plane was delayed upon arrival, they offered the hotel for a quick breakfast and use of the computer to get to my destination. When I returned on Sunday evening, I was welcomed and made to feel comfortable. The one problem was the ongoing construction and the jacuzzi area was very dirty. The floor was dirty and there was hair in and around the tub. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable.

Bedding was clean but carpet was old and worn. We arrived late (10pm) but there was still a lot of construction people and construction noise all night long. I woke up at least 3 times to what sounded like heavy furniture being dragged across concrete and sledge hammer pounding. This was between midnight and 4am.. We weren't to far from the airport but weren't offered a shuttle. I'll stay further from the airport next time.

Perfect spot close to airport with convenient early breakfast and shuttle for a 6AM flight. Great service by staff, especially shuttle crew. Everything else is gravy.

Looks and feels cheap

Country Inn and Suites has, in the past, always been affordable comfort and quality. This one felt cheap and looked like an apartment complex. The hallways had a cheap apartment look. The rooms had a weird design with cheap fixtures including a faucet that was very hard to turn on and off, and nearly impossible to get flowing at a non-splash level. The automatic front doors did not open reliably, and I got stuck between them on the way on with all my stuff in tow. There was no bathroom or changing area in the too small pool area.

Noisy desk staff

Pros: The room & facilities - clean & nice.
Cons: Staff that understands that most of their guests are trying to sleep at night.
Location: We liked the National Mississippi River museum a lot.
We had a great room. Convenient we thought because it was the 1st one from the lobby desk. However when we were trying to sleep - the hotel staff - a loud woman in particular talked very loudly through the night. We ended up staying in Cedar Rapids on our way home - but booked a different hotel - so that we could get some sleep. The place was newly remodeled and was quite nice otherwise.
