Excellent stay

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: The beds and rooms in general. The restaurant on top was marvelous! The shuttle driver (Mubarek I believe) was wonderful!
Cons: One or two of the front desk clerks were difficult to understand due to their limited skills in English, but all were friendly.
Location: Centrally located.
A wonderful hotel with a world class restaurant! One of the best and most romantic meals we've ever had! The room was elegant and comfortable.

Not for sleeping and quiet

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: The staff in the lobby was very nice.
Cons: Noise
We were on the 14th floor and could hear the " hum" of the elevator all night long. Not the hotel's fault but the train running in the middle of the night reminded me of the movie " my cousin Vinnie" when the train would wake the characters up in the middle of the night. The hotel was nice however if you need to get some sound sleeping this isn't the place to be.

Pros: connection to the US Cellular Center
Room was very nice, quiet. We liked not having to drive anywhere after we got there.

Pros: The room it self.
Cons: Better info on where to eat and dinner options.
The staff was fantastic and the room was great. Only issue and not thier fault we went to see a concert and couldn't get in to thier resturant to have dinner. Also if would be nice that the parking would be included in your room cost.

A wonderful evening

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Many restaurants, bars, etc. within walking distance.
We went to Cedar Rapids for the Heart concert. The Doubletree is connected to the U.S. Cellular where the concert was held. The hotel was wonderful. We have no comments except to say that we are going back this summer for another concert and will stay there again.

Perfect for an event at the US Cellular Center

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Beds were VERY comfortable. Valet parking was easy.
Cons: My GPS didn't give me accurate driving directions. I would suggest printing a paper map.
Location: Breakfast at Red's Public House was an easy walk and good food at a reasonable price. We had excellent service there as well. Their menu is on line.
Didn't have to even go outside to go to the concert. The staff was very attentive, I asked for a non-feather pillow and was asked if I would like all the feather pillows and comforter changed out, and they were there with the pillow in under 5 min. There is a train that goes by close enough to hear, it might bother a very light sleeper but it was not an issue for me. The pool is in a nice sunny spot (no hot tub). The work-out rooms were decent, treadmills with TVs, weights (wasn't realty paying much attention to it), Everything was very clean.

Cedar Rapids must stay!

The hotel was above & beyond my expectations. The hotel had it all: friendly & knowledgeable staff, beautiful, clean & comfy accommodations, access to downtown, free shuttle access, arena access, one of the largest hotel fitness centers, & a warm cookie check-in!!!!

Pros: The location and the view from our room.
Cons: The only thing I can even think of would be the lighting in the room. For someone over 50 the lighting was a bit dim but everything else was perfect.
We had a wonderful room overlooking the downtown area. Easy walking distance to the theatre and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and professional. The cookies they give out at check-in are a really nice touch and one of the best cookies I have ever had! We also enjoyed the hotel bar - it was lovely.

Pros: It was so close to my destination, I walked to the remote office.
Overall, a great experience. Had a little issue with the staff when I had them on the phone but in person they were all fantastic.
