“Restful stay”

The Howard Johnson in Cedar Rapids has very friendly and accommodating staff. A true pet friendly hotel.

What impressed me most is that a bad storm had just gone through Cedar Rapids, and the power at the hotel was out for several hours. The staff did an exceptional job of helping guests travel the hallways, etc. I don't rate a hotel when things are going smoothly. It's when there's something out of the ordinary that I pay attention to, and I think the staff did an excellent job of handling the situation. My hat's off to them - GREAT JOB!

The furniture and bedding was not as clean as I would have expected. The recliner could be replaced, and the bedspread had dark stains (looked like possible food stains) on it. Carpet was pretty worn.

Obviously, staying at a Howard Johnson's isn't going to be a weekend in Paris, but I was pleasantly surprised none the less. The room was clean and service was very friendly and helpful. The room had everything I needed, including easy access to the free WiFi. My only real complaint was the bed. The blankets were very stiff and pretty scratchy. But, the beds were made regularly and the room was cleaned during my stay. Overall, for a short trip on a tight budget, I would reccomend it.

“Title”

I was pretty sure I booked a queen, I called to make sure my room would still be there as I was arriving after 3 am. We got there and the room we were 1st offered was a double. For two adults and a toddler. They switched us to a queen room. After getting settled we realized we had a double bed, but a whirlpool tub. We weren't going to move, so we stayed. The whirlpool part of the tub didn't work, but the toddler loved swimming in the big tub.
