“Great Place for Business and Pleasure”

We visited the Marriott on business; it is attached to a large conference center. However, good dining is important to us in our "down" time as well as a place to exercise, and local options for shopping, dining, etc. The exercise room is incredibly well equipped (bring your headphones; there's a TV attached to each machine!). The Edgewater Restaurant on site has outstanding food! We will definitely visit there again...for business and pleasure.

“Love this Coralville/Iowa City area hotel!”

This was my third time staying that this hotel and it was just as enjoyable as the two other times. The whole hotel is really well taken care of. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are very clean, and it's in a convenient location (right by I-80, close to the mall, and right between Coralville and Iowa City). The only drawback to the hotel is the parking situation if you drive yourself there. You have to use the parking garage which costs $8 if you park there the whole night. The rooms are a little pricey as well, but you get what you pay for here. Overall, a great hotel!

This hotel is very nice looking and very clean. The staff was very helpful and informative. This hotel provides everything I need to have a very relaxing and productive stay. I will definitely stay at this hotel again when I am in town.

“Great hotel - but room smelled a little funny”

First room that I was given smelled like really bad body odor. So bad I couldn't bare the thought of staying there for 4 days. The staff was very apologetic and quickly gave me a new room. The second room just smelled a little stale but not nearly as bad as the first. If I wasn't so tired from the trip I would have asked for yet another room. I found it strange because the rest of the hotel was perfect. No smells in the halls. The room seemed clean. But I've had a similar situation happen to me before where in an effort to use "green" cleaning products and reduce water usage the hotel used the same towel to clean many rooms. Looked clean, but smelled not clean. However all that being said, the staff was great and if I would have asked for another room I'm sure that would have given it to me. Everything worked great in the room. The restaurant was EXCELLENT. The service was great and the food was outstanding. It's hard to get a a fish dish that is cooked properly but this restaurant did an outstanding job. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations, but this rivaled some the best restaurants in SF. Kudos to the chef

If my travels take me back to Coralville, this is the hotel to choose. Excellent service, beautiful room. Definitely my place of choice!

“My favorite place to stay in the Iowa City/Coralville area”

We have had 2 children attend the U of I. So over the years, we have stayed at about every hotel or motel in town. We just returned from our second stay at the new Coralville Marriott, and we were satisfied with every aspect. The front desk staff was pleasant, prompt and helpful. Parking was uncomplicated. The pool and exercise room were both small but easy to find. The building itself is conveniently laid out and the public areas are spacious, warm, welcoming, and colorfully decorated. You actually WANT to lounge there. Both the rooms and the beds seem larger than standard, and they are muc more tastefully furnished than one would expect of a facility calling itself a conference center. We were both particularly impressed by the attention to detail -- extra pillows, individual reading lights built into the headboards, etc. We stayed there initially shortly after the hotel opened. Since then the landscaping has been completed, proving opportunities for both walkers and joggers. In addition, two restaurants have opened up in the adjoining set of offices. All in all, I would have given the Marriott at least 4 stars. And be sure to check their website for special offers.
