Great location and cool atmosphere. We had to wait for nearly 30 minutes to check into our room and then when the clerk showed up they were rude and unhelpful.
Always a good option. WiFi was not working properly and our bathroom light would not turn off. Minimal complaint, but if it was a work trip and WiFi was down I would not have been a happy camper.
The graduate is my go-to for downtown Iowa City. Always comfortable and convenient.
This time our room wasn’t stocked with enough cups or coffee and housekeeping came in when we were sleeping but otherwise our stay was pleasant. Will stay again.
Our room was just ok.. the refrigerator was not working, they switched it out, still not working.. coffee station in the room was not stocked.. went to the desk and they gave me coffee, cups and lids, but when I got back to the room.. there wasn’t any creamer sugar etc.. at a point you just give up asking for assistance
The heat in our room did not work. It is winter in Iowa with an overnight low of 20 degrees and our heat didn’t work. Then there was a smoke detector in another nearby room that chirped all night. Both are completely unacceptable.
Great location with easy access to restaurants and shopping. The hotel is unique in it's interior design and has well furnished rooms. We always enjoy the Graduate Hotels!
Paper thin walls. When I made a comment the front desk staff said “wow you must just have great hearing”. Could literally hear the footsteps, bowel movements, TVs and every word spoken in adjacent rooms as if they were in the room with me.
Adorably cute and quiet hotel with character right in the main shopping and dining with validated parking garage next door.

Reserved a room for 3 people, was given room that only slept 2 and was told they could not guarantee rooms booked through 3rd party and the hotel was full. The desk staff did threaten to call the police when we complained about the room not fitting all of us which was just to embarrass us since we did nothing wrong and they never actually called the police. Was able to book a Hilton directly through there app. Will never try to stay here again.
This is a nice property in the heart of Iowa City. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown, the university, several restaurants and bars. Staff were great! Overall a great destination and place to stay!
Great property - will definately stay again. Comfy beds, located to all the Iowa City nightlife, clean has a full workout facility available. Just great!
My husband and I booked a room at the graduate. When we went to check there was not a person in sight. We waited for 25 minutes before attempting to call and the phone just kept ringing. Another couple said that they saw the staff go into a hotel room 40 minutes prior. We had to get the bartender to find them. We waited for over an hour total at this point. All just to end up canceling. The front desk man never apologized and seemed very distracted. I am so disappointed. We were looking forward to this stay.

A great place to stay
This hotel was awesome. The staff were on their game and real professionals. There was an issue with the heat and the solved the problem quickly. They had a certified heat n vac technician on staff. This hotel was in excellent condition.

The reception staff was friendly, snd helpful. When I travel, I value the attitudes of staff over most everything else. The Graduate Iowa City exceeded my expectations!
