Hotel Premier Veliko Tarnovo

A very pleasant place to stay when on a vacation in this fabulous city. Located in a quiet side-street, but in 1 minute you can walk to one of the main streets, full of shops and cafes. The hotel has its own secure parking, a nice pool, and everything else one might want for a comfortable stay. Staff were polite and helpful. The historic area (castle and cathedral) is within walking distance, but the official taxis are very cheap as well.

Upon arrival there was someone at reception who could talk English and a porter was on hand to show us to our room. The room did show signs of the age of the hotel and could have done with a little repair. The room was comfortable but could have benefitted from tea / coffee making facilities. The continental breakfast in the morning was suitable but a few mornings it was a little basic.The roof top pool area was very nice and the best thing about the hotel, however it was June and the spa pool was not filled and operating which was a disappointment. The access to the pool which was in the building directly across the entrance courtyard road to the hotel was via the front public entrance for the hotel. This means that you may wish to not walk across the road in your swimwear. The spa health suit was not opearting when we were there so could not use the sauna, steam room or indoor swimming pool. The internet access was wireless and good. The car parking was in a good garage but the morning of our departure we found the car covered in dust from work that had been underataken in the parking area. Overall we thought the hotel offered good value for money despite some facilities not being available.
