We love this hotel and have stayed several times. This time, we enjoyed the sauna and swimming in the lake. We did not take advantage of breakfast, which is available for an additional fee, because our room featured a full kitchen and there is a grocery store nearby where we could purchase Austrian delicacies. Se we made our own breakfast. We liked the fact that you can walk from the hotel to the center of town, which features a casino and other activities. Velden is an elegant and popular lakeside resot. We happened to see the International Sports Car Festival, which was quite the event! For dinner, we ordered pizza from the Pizzeria De Klade. That was delicious. The only downside was the narrow parking spaces near the hotel rooms. One of our neighbors did not park between the white lines, and that made it difficult for us to maneuver. But the hotel receptionist contacted the neighbor and resolved the issue gracefully. Thanks to the staff at the Barry Memle Lake Side Resort! We hope to be back!

We booked a “3 bedroom” unit at 50% higher price and were put in a 2 bedroom unit. In the morning I was told that the fold-out bed in the living/dining area counted as the 3rd “bedroom”. The bed wasn’t made up for us and we three adults wanted our own bedroom as promised. Secondly, the “free WiFi” will not let you connect unless you agree to have your details shared with others for marketing purposes. No thanks, too much spam now and I’ve never been forced to share my info before.

It was quiet, we were given an excellent room with a view of the lake from the balcony. We booked specifically because it said washing machine & free parking included. We had a choice of 2 in the area that fulfilled our need & went for the more expensive on the lake. The amenities list made it very clear that there were a few things that incurred an extra charge but the washing machine wasn't amongst them. We assumed it was included and in our room. The room had no washing machine, so we called reception and explained the issue and that we only chose it for this reason. The owner assured us that he would sort it and true to his word I went with him and put the laundry on, which he said he would dry and leave at reception for us in the morning. We asked if there was a charge and were assured that he was the owner and it was sorted. The shock and disappointment were that he added 20 Euros (double the normal cost) for the laundry because "the owner had done it for us"! This was shamefully dishonest. We had made it very clear that we would go to the other hotel nearby and did not want it done if there was a charge. When I complained he then said 10 3uros but I again refused and he reluctantly took the 20 euros off the bill. It left a very sour taste that after telling me "it's all about the service" he tried this. They shouldn't advertise washing machine included if what they actually offer is a very expensive laundry service. Greedy. Shameful.

We are very sorry for this misunderstanding. We think it's absolutely OK that you 1. Got a larger apartment free of charge from us for the same price, even with a lake view 2. Personally, I was allowed to wash your laundry late in the evening, which I really enjoyed doing for you! BUT We think it's absolutely not OK that 1. You weren't even ready to pay the low cost of just 10, - for it 2. I hadn't promised you that this would also be included 3. It doesn't say anywhere that we do your laundry for free and 4. You also give us a bad rating as a thank you You know what? We really like to do everything possible for our guests Sorry, but your rating only makes us sad. Really now! We find your immeasurable greed and, on top of that, your defamation not only embarrassing but also sad and completely inappropriate. Don't you think so too ...!

Fabulous people, place and location
Great room with wrap around balcony, view of lake, right on the lake, free use of kayaks and paddle boats, free use of bikes, kitchen and living room. Pool and excellent saunas available on site. Staff was fantastic, very nice and incredibly helpful

a hotel that thought of everything
we visited during an uncrowded time of season so we had the complete attention from the staff and facility usage. With all the tourist things closed, we enjoyed the most using of the indoor pool with our two young children. The room did smell of cigarette smoke that seemed to be ingrained in the furniture and drapes. I don't remember at the time of making my reservation, being able to pick non-smoking.The kitchen was very tiny although we didn't need to use it.The neighborhood was dead.

Nice place to stay.
My wife and I stayed here because it broke up a long car journey and we need a place for the night. I chose it because it seemed to be good value for the price. It is right on the water and has nice views. I can imagine in the summer time it would be a wonderful place to stay for a few days to see the area.

Hotel nice, room awful!
The grounds are beautiful, the staff friendly but I must have got the worst room in the area. It was uncomfortable, so cramped it was hard to open the door, the furniture uncomfortable and I could hardly move. The whole experience was claustrophobic. It was cheap, but not that cheap!

Schön am Wörthersee gelegen, nicht weit vom Zentrum in Velden (zu Fuß möglich). Mit dem Auto nicht weit in umliegende interessante Gebiete. Schöner Spa-Bereich. Hilfsbereites und stets freundliches Personal. Insgesamt zu empfehlen.

Doof war nur daß die Rezeption nicht besetzt war und der Schlüsselcode erst nach ner halben Stunde übermittelt wurde und am Morgen dann noch 17 € verlangt wurden für ein Upgrade daß ich nicht verlangt hatte und über die Kosten nicht informiert war. Auf die Zahlung wurde dann verzichtet.

Wir kamen an und haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt, die Dame am der Rezeption hat uns wunderbar empfangen und mit allen wichtigen Details betraut. Wir hatten einen Bungalow und haben alle (2 Erw. 3 Ki) super geschlafen, nicht gefroren uns wohl gefühlt. Es war so schön, dass wir eine Nacht verlängert haben, dies ging problemlos. Zur Hochsaison, wird dies aber sicher schwieriger sein.

Toller Urlaub in Österreich
Eigentlich sollte es bei uns heuer in die Türkei gehen, aufgrund der aktuellen Situation war das aber nicht möglich, so entschieden wir uns für einen Urlaub in Kärnten. Wir wurden vom Personal sehr herzlich begrüßt, die Mitarbeiter waren bei jedem Anliegen stets zur Stelle. Die Anlage ist sehr sauber und gepflegt, der Strandabschnitt klein aber fein. Den Kindern hat es sehr gefallen aufgrund der Auswahl der zur Verfügung stehenden Sportgeräte. Beim Frühstück war für jeden etwas dabei, eine gelungene Auswahl, vor allem für diesen Preis unschlagbar. Zwei kleine Mankos gab es dennoch: Beim Zimmer kam durch die Glastür zur Straße bis spät in die Nacht Licht ins Zimmer wo sich auch die Betten befanden – ist nicht jedermanns Sache. Sehr schade fanden wir, dass es keine Möglichkeit mittags ein paar Snacks zu bekommen (Wurstsemmel, Pommes, …), nur die Sache aus dem Automaten. Wir können dieses Hotel nur jedem für einen Aufenthalt in Kärnten empfehlen und werden sicher auch wieder mal kommen. Danke für die schöne Urlaubswoche!

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Das Zimmer war nicht super modern aber erfüllte seinen Zweck und es war alles sehr sauber. Es gab auch Zimmer, die etwas moderner waren (neue Küche, neues Bad). Vielleicht baut das Hotel mit der Zeit immer wieder ein paar Zimmer um. Das Frühstück war super! Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gerne buchen wir wieder, wenn wir in der Nähe sind.

Gutes Hotel am See
Wenn man am Wörthersee mit Blick auf's berühmte Schloss übernachten will, ist dieses Hotel vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Tipp: Schliesst am Abend alle Fenster, sonst werdet ihr wie ich von Mücken aufgefressen; bzw. nehmt etwas mit um die Mücken zu bekämpfen.

Nettes Hotel welches ich guten Gewissens empfehle
Sehr netter Empfang und ein großes tolles Apartment! Genügend Parkplätze und ein nettes Frühstück ( für 10€ / Person) Leider war der Innenpool ziemlich kühl und nicht sehr sauber- es schwamm ein Tuch im Wasser und auf dem Boden trieben Partikel Die Sauna ist sehr sauber und die Infrarot Kabine sehr angenehm!

Danke für Ihre wichtigen Hinweise. Wir haben inzwischen die Wassertemperatur vom Pool auf 30° angehoben. Die Reinigung erfolgt 2 x täglich. Die Kontrolle der Wasserqualität geschieht permanent auch durch unsere neue Wasseraufbereitungsanlage.
