“Very nice stay”

Overall very nice stay, near new hotel with good service in central location overlooking the river. My only complaint is that their advertised room rate is for one person with second person costing additional. Most unusual practise resulting in the headline rate appearing very cheap. We particularily were impressed with the design and function of the bathroom.

“Great quality in Villach”

I have stayed in a couple of hotels in Villach but this one is the best. Rooms are large and comfortable with all the facilities you would expect. Breakfast could have been a little better - there wasn't a huge choice despite the fact that there was a chef on hand to prepare fried eggs, sausages etc. Room had a river view although to be honest the view isn't anything special. There are some nice little restaurants, ice cream parlours etc in the vicinity of the bridge over the river near the hotel. The hotel is about 5 minutes easy down hill walk from the railway station - you just go straight out the front doors of the station and keep walking until you reach the bridge over the river. If you then look up over your left shoulder you will see the Holiday Inn "H" above you. It's that easy to find! There is a taxi rank at the end of the road where the hotel is situated - just turn left as you walk out.

“A Welcomed stay”

Perfect location Ultra modern, but still very comfortable, This hotel ranks among our favorite in Europe. Would stay here without question on our next trip

“A very clean modern hotel with terrific facilities in the basement”

It is right up there with the standards you would expect from a Holiday Inn but the basement holds a great Gym, Sauna and Steam bath. Massage and all other wellness facilities available. Don't have the breakfast as it is not included. Just down the road several choices for breakfast. Meals as well

“Nice place but consider others...”

This hotel is conveniently located next to the conference center and main city center. However, the rooms have "frosted glass" enclosures around the bathroom so you better be prepared for a lack of privacy when using the shower or toilet... While the location is convenient, the AC didn't work so I opened the window to get some fresh air - when you do that, the HVAC fan will automatically turn off and, while the outside air was nice, the NOISE from the street level wasn't. Clearly it was a compromise - try to be comfortable (temperature wise) with the window open and using the privacy curtain as a "bug" net OR deal with the inside temperature possible with the poor functioning HVAC unit. I went with the window. This is probably the best choice due to the minimal options available unless you can identify a "pension" hotel that earns good marks. Many are available but cater to the German population so it can be hard to pick. The staff were friendly but overly helpful. The parking was easy but will cost you $'s and the breakfast seemed a bit overpriced. We opted for the coffee shop next door for a roll and coffee as we aren't big breakfast eaters.
