“European Hotel experience”

This historic hotel reflects what Europe has to offer. It is located downtown so it is very convenient to walk and explore the charming streets and sights. Our room was small but comfortable. Hotel parking was secured but a very tight squeeze. The restaurant (for breakfast and dinner) was fabulous with its attention to quality and service.

“Will not be staying there again”

We used this hotel for one night only as we were travelling through Austria and the hotel we used last year had no availability. I found the hotel hard to find and when a friendly policeman offered to show me the way he said 'do you want the frontside or backside' as parking is at the back of the hotel. However on arrival it was not possible to use the hotel car park as it was completely full. On contacting reception it was made clear to me (although it was not made clear at the time of booking) that space in the car park is not guaranteed and that I would have to park in a public car park some 10 minutes walk away. When we eventually arrived to check in the receptionist expressed regret that I had not informed them that my son is in a wheelchair. I informed her that when booking I had actually written in the notes section that I needed a wheelchair accessible room (and I have email evidence of this) but she dismissed this and said they had not been told and that our room was on the first floor (lift available) and then up a 'couple' of stairs. In fact it was more like 15 stairs that we had to negotiate between the three of us. The staff in the breakfast room were good and the selection of food was good but the rest of the staff were unsmiling and stiff and I was just extremely relieved to get back to the car park and find it was still there (although the 35 euro tariff for 9 hours was hard to swallow). Overall very disappointed and won't recommend.

“Not up to expected basic standards”

A capped empty wine bottle was on top of our bar - which we would have been chardged for if I had not noticed this and called the front desk just after we entered our room. They use liquid soap in the hotel, but they don't check if there sufficient soap in the bottles. I ran out of soap while taking a shower. We found that we were not the only ones to encounter this problem. We had dinner in their restaurant. While service was excellent, the food was uneven in quality. The large white asparagus, for example, were mealy and tasteless. We would not go back to this hotel or restaurant. There was also a suffocating smell of fresh paint in the hallway near our unit.
