“Will definitely return”

We used the Oaks Waterfront Resort at The Entrance for our family get together - we are already planning to go back next year, it is in a great spot with easy access to hotels, shopping & restaurants - we ate at the hotel which also offered great meals & service, all the family enjoyed their stay

“Good accommodation depending on your requirements”

I booked this accommodation due to its location part way between Sydney and Newcastle to break up my trip. I arrived about 10.30 pm to find the bar / restaurant was closed as was the bar next door. There was nothing open close by so I had to drive to a 7 Eleven to get some water and something to eat. The hotel appears to be in a holiday resort area and was quite quiet as I think it was out of season. The apartment room was very nice, big with kitchen area and cleaning facilities (washing machine, tumble dryer, etc). The next evening gave me a better view of the surrounding area as the bars / restaurants were open but beware they do close about 10.30. The hotel sits on an estuary with the sea / beach within 2 mins walk. A nice area for a quiet holiday and a good stopover providing you bring your own food or get there earlier. Open air pool was very nice though the pool bar was closed when I was there.

Comfortable, good sized room with beautiful view. Close to shops, eateries and entertainment. Great kitchenette, bathroom and laundry setups. Would definitely go back there.

“" Gd Hotel but what with the noise ???? "”

Hotel itself & room appeared good as above - however , very noisy night and morning with machinery going outside window / balcony which wasnt appreciated for a quiet peaceful night & morning for the $cost charged - what was going on ? is there work being done ofter hours or something ?

“The OAKS.......a lovely, relaxing break!!”

The OAKS is in a great location with a wonderful holiday atmosphere. The esplanade has lots of little cafes and restaurants and plenty of fun things for the kids, including a water park and pelican feeding. We spent a very lazy time on our balcony enjoying the water views. The room is comfortable, with a functional kitchenette so we could enjoy a meal on the balcony. The staff are friendly and helpful and willing to accomodate our requests.The pool and spa are clean and quite large and our baby enjoyed the kiddies pool. There is no need to drive anywhere, everything is at your doorstep! I would recommend the OAKS to families looking for comfort, fun and relaxation. We booked thru Expedia, nice and easy and the best price. Tip: Go for a room with a view, you'll be disappointed if you don't.

Great location. Everything in your hotel that is required. Hotel is a little older and parking is not included in your stay!

“Few minor issues.”

Funny access to car park, over-priced parking fee. Very disappointed gym facility. Few dirty marks on bed linen. No room service only because of we made booking from expedia. But other than that, It was quiet good for overall. Nice kitchenware, friendly staff, good location and so on.

“Needs Improvements!”

Hotel was relatively nice, clean and reception was friendly. One thing that was dissappointing though, was the reception on the TV. Although, they had foxtel with movies, sports, and kids TV. It was very hard to watch as the reception was black and white, fuzzy and very hard to see. I approached reception about this, but they advised that, that is how Foxtel has set it up and the hotel couldnt do anything about it. That was very dissappointing as we stayed at Oaks for a 8 days and 7 nights. We would like to stay there again, as the location was perfect, but fixing their reception would be ideal first.

“Disappointed”

The room was quite large and comfortable but opened on to a brick wall. That is, if you sat on the patio (which would have been uncomfortable given that the sparse outdoor furniture was covered in bird excrement) you would be permanently in the shade and staring at a brick wall about one metre away. The property is well located only a short distance from places to eat etc. Secure parking on site was $15 per night. Not secure parking next door at the council car park was free. We were advised of this by the hotel receptionist.
