Brilliant hotel with excellent staff and facilities. The staff are excellent, kind, courteous, helpful, they cannot do enough for you. All the staff speak English with great charm and they make the hotel a pleasure to stay at. The room was spacious, well equipped and spotless. Excellent housekeeping staff. The hotel is in an excellent location with all amenities within easy reach. Restaurants are all excellent and the cuisine of a very high calibre. Could not have been better looked after. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit, just wish it could have been longer.

Fantastic view and great location. We felt at home. Shelby greeted us at check in and spent quite a bit of time answering our questions about Hong Kong and things to do. She even followed up a few times during our stay including sending chocolates etc. to our room for our daughter's birthday. We were made to feel at home.

Hotel staff is extremely professional and friendly. They were efficient and service oriented and gave attention to every detail. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel rooms are like mini apartments and I loved being in my room after a day out. There were no amenities spared and the flatscreens, bathrooms, livingrooms, you name it - made you feel at home. Downstairs is Zuma - an excellent restaurant I have been to in both London and Dubai - and amazing shops. I would highly recommend hotel.

Although the price is a little high, this is a great hotel to stay while in HK. Excellent location very close to the MTR, restaurants, shopping & the ferry to Macau. There are only two rooms to a floor, the unit is actually a one bedroom apt with a living room/kitchen. Room service is top notch, the layout is pristine, there are two flat screen TV's with a DVD player, High speed internet and the hotel provides a free smart phone with built in wifi hotspot and free local and international calls. What else could you ask for? And I forgot to mention free breakfast and a gym to workout.

We stayed in the Island Shangrila over New Year and were very impressed, as we expected to be. We had a deluxe room with a harbour view - the view wasn't amazing because of the angle to the harbour but that's a minor complaint - everything else was perfect. We accepted an offer to upgrade to the club room where we could have breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails etc. and it was also open until 1am to watch the fireworks at New Year which was worthwhile. Other than breakfast, we ate twice in the hotel - in the Chinese restaurant and also in the Seafood restaurant - both experiences excellent, very relaxing and not stuffy at all. It was my husband's birthday on 1 January and a lovely card and box of chocolates were waiting for him when we got back from a day out - a lovely touch.

Don't let the street appearance throw you off. Very nice boutique hotel five minutes from the nightlife. Rooms are small, and more costly than Kowloon, or elsewhere on mainland. Still, a very good deal for central/the location. No restraunt on-site, but the coffee is available early at the reception.

Considered the central business district, Central is home to the corporate headquarters of multinational financial services, consulates-general, and Hong Kong government and administrative offices. The area is also a major transport hub for buses, trains, trams, and ferries. Head to Hollywood Road for antiques and trinkets, and Soho for bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and galleries.
