Everything about this hotel was great especially considering what we paid in comparison to other hotels we've stayed at in Kyoto and Japan (I'm looking at you kyoto tower hotel)
Area is close enough to a lot of the good stuff, we rented bikes which we used to get everywhere.
To buy knock against it is the really head mattresses, but that seems to be a Japan thing I it's on par with other hotels in that respect

"Best boutique hotel, in the middle of everything!"
Loved the hotel! It was right smack in the middle of the shopping and food district. An awesome meal was just a 1-2 minutes walk away from the Hotel. Everything is within walking distance from the hotel! The hotel staff were helpful and courteous. Rooms were cosy (but small but isn't every hotel small in Japan?).

"New hotel in excellent location at a great value"
My wife and I could not have been more pleased with Gran Ms Kyoto. We traveled to Kyoto with our infant and felt completely comfortable here. The hotel was brand new so everything was in mint condition, the hotel was super clean, and the desk staff were very friendly and spoke English. But most importantly the location was outstanding. Walking distance to buses and trains, all kinds of shopping and restaurants, and Gion. The rooms were small by American standards but completely comfortable and laid out very elegantly. Highly recommend!

"Nice hotel near to Gojo subway station (NW exit)."
We enjoyed our stay very much. We went to Arashiyama Bridge via Kyoto station the first day, Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace and Heian Jingu Shrine on day two, the Golden Temple and Ryoanji Garden on day three, a walk through Shimdogonio Shrine, the Botanical Garden and to a NE Lake on day four (bird watching), and walked to Kiyomizudera Temple in the morning of our last day before catching the Limousine Coach to Itami Airport.
We didn't eat in the hotel but used local food outlets and convenience stores for daytime food and coffee.
