There were renovations going on by my room and the noise started at 08:00. Otherwise a decent breakfast and a comfortable bed in the heart of downtown. The staff were wonderful.

Good but...
Three nights. First two nights awoken at 7:30 by construction happening on 8th floor, and even though we were on third floor the noise was as if we were in a construction side (noise, shouting by workers etc). They did move us to first floor on third nignt. Service is always top here. Never complaints for staff. Amazing people.

Good location but upgrade was "I have no knowledge of that" quickly followed by "Unfortunately we are full" but pushed using the spa. Front desk didn't have any info about bus to Meteor but manager who did would call me (didn't happen but excuse would be that I wasn't in). Travelling solo so left papers on table at breakfast to save table but staff threw them out and made no effort to look for them or to apologise. Put the Do not Disturb Sign on my door but person came into my room anyways and sign disappeared.

Dear lynette,Allow me to thank you for choosing City hotel for your recent stay in Thessaloniki.Please,note that an upgrade subjects to availability-nevertheless,we are always happy to assist our guests in every possible way.According to our system we accommodated you to a higher category room.Regarding the Concierge Manager,unfortunately,she couldn't find you on the phone given but she tried to reach you via email to the address that you provided us upon your check in.As for the ''Do Not Disturb'' sign please,note that according to our records the first 2 days there was the sign not to enter the room.The 3rd day though there was not a sign and that's when the housekeeper entered your room in order to assist you.As for the incident that took place during breakfast,our policy is not to throw away anything but this is something we will investigate in depth. We always take very seriously all guests' comments and we hope that you will give us another chance in the future to host you and serve you better.Best Regards,

Location, stuff, breakfast thumbs up, rooms down
The room gave us on the first floor (105) had a very bad odor like smoke. Eventhough they said all the rooms were non-smoking, we couldn't stand it. The next day they changed the room to 4th floor and it wad OK. Hotel looks new from outside but rooms definitely needs some upgrade. Friendly stuff, perfect location.

City break
City hotel is located in a terrific spot, close to restaurants and shopping. The staff are great especially the guy who started his role that day when I needed assistance with the hotel’s computer. He found a solution to my predicament. Breakfast is great but if you want a good coffee it costs €2.

The location is perfect. Shops, cafes restaurants etc within meters. The hotel breakfast is yummy and more than enough. Staff very polite and accommodating. We were 3 adults and the room was super small. The bathroom was built for dwarfs. No room for luggage. The air conditioning works well and there is a balcony. The staff asked if we wanted to change room which was nice.

Excellent! Perfect location. Plenty of shops Walking distance. Bathroom was tiny but other than that is was perfect. I'd def stay again and recommend.

The property perfect except for one thing. Like most hotels the gym was poor., but could be easily fixed. All is needed are dumbbells from 10k to 85k, resistance bands at different strength levels and one treadmill. Get rid of all the other equipment that is useless or broken. This is an observation of a guest who takes fitness seriously… there is a lot of us visiting your city and hotels. Other than that, it is the hotel I will always attempt to choose when visiting Thessaloniki!

Enjoyed our stay. Excellent location, close to everything. Breakfast was great with lots to choose from. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms a little small but normal by European standards I think. Balconies have a side sea view. Overall a great choice at a very reasonable price.

A lovely hotel at the best location
We love staying at the City hotel, as the service is outstanding, the breakfast buffet is superb and the ambiance and decoration very pleasant. It can get noisy though from the street as it’s always busy and vibrant, from other guests as well as maybe some rooms are not as sound proof efficient as expected. But this only happened in one of our rooms so not the norm. We’re definitely coming back, thank you to reception staff that are always very helpful.

Satisfactory hotel overall, would stay again
Very central hotel, walking distance to many bars, restaurants and vibrant parts of the city. Our room was satisfactory and had no issues overall. Staff was very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good, decent spread but nothing amazing. Parking all around down town is a bit of an issue but the hotel can give some guidance on this as they have partnerships. We had booked quite in advance so i think the price was fair as well. Would stay again.

central hotel, needs improvement
the hotel is located at city center. the room is very small and inconvenient, there was a problem with the water in the shower - it didn't drain. one of the 2 tiny elevators was permanently not working, and while you live in a high floor, it's a disadvantage. breakfast was very good.

This hotel provides excellent value for money. It is very centrally located and offers a good buffet breakfast at no extra charge. The rooms and bathrooms are fairly basic but fully functional, and the beds are comfortable. Room amenities include tea/coffee making. Self-parking in the 24hr facility close by (arranged by hotel but payable at the car park) costs €15 at the time of writing, including in-out privileges, and runs a full 24 hours from first entry. If you want luxury, cross the road to the Excelsior. If you’re happy with mid-range, this is an excellent choice.
