DisappointingPosted Jan 2, 2014
The first night in our three night stay, the hotel was hosting a wedding reception in their main hall. The music from the reception was so loud it reverberated clearly throughout the hotel from 9pm - 4am. When I called at 1030pm to complain that we could not sleep, the reception staff were at first surprised that we wanted to go to sleep so early. Then they offered to move us to another room, but said it would probably have the same noise. The hotel appears geared towards hosting large receptions and not to families. Also, the hotel's location is in a neighborhood that is very run-down. Many abandoned buildings adjacent to the hotel and all along the street. You need a vehicle to get to the city and parking availability in the city is non-existent or very expensive.

Nice hotel but poor location and comfortPosted Nov 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is nice and clean, but is situated 3km from city centre in a rather bad neighbourhood. The rooms are in good standard, except for the bed which was hard as bricks and made it feel like you were sleeping on a bad camping bed!

EXCELLENT HOTEL-VERY UGLY LOCATIONPosted Oct 9, 2013
Pros: INSIDE THE HOTEL, I LIKED EVERYTHING..
Cons: NOTHING CAN BE DONE AS THE PROBLEM IS THE LOCATION ..
Location: LOCATION IS VERY BAD.5.5 KM FAR FROM TOWN CENTER ,THE HOTEL HELPED BY OFFERING SHUTTLE UP TO DOWN TOWN & MARKET.,BUT NO BODY CAN WALK TO GO ANYWHERE
INSIDE THE HOTEL ,EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT, BUT THE AREA , WHERE THE HOTEL IS LOCATED IS VERY UGLY, THE BACK OF THE PORT, OPPOSITE THE HOTEL ENTRANCE IS THE BACK OF WAREHOUSES !! AND FAR FROM EVERYTHING, U CANT WALK TO NO WHERE, U NEED TRANSPORTATION..

Fully recommendablePosted Jul 16, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, cleanness of the place, comfort.
Location: Slightly off the main mall; however, the hotel has an ample parking area which was essential for us.
Squeaky clean and well maintained place, exceptionally helpfully and competent staff. Overall - very pleasant experience.

Nice first stay 2nd on New Year's Eve in tiny roomPosted Jan 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
First stay of 2 nights perfect for a couple - on return for New Year's Eve allocated a tiny single persons room which wasn't good for a couple but would be ok for a single person. Otherwise hotel was superb.

Nice hotel from far from townPosted Nov 16, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great service, only thing is that its far from the city centre. Thessaloniki being pretty cheap means that it's not expensive to travel via cab (or bus which stops right outside the hotel) to go to the city, but it'd be nice to be in the city centre. Did not realize that it was out of the way until we reached here.

Highly recommended, if not super centralPosted Oct 22, 2012
A bit off the beaten path from central Thessaloniki, but the Porto Palace is a great hotel. Nice rooms, big beds, and a wonderful breakfast buffet that got me up and at 'em each morning. I was in town for a music conference all the way across town, but the taxis were just 5 euros each way and I looked forward to coming back home each eve to the Palace.

Nice but not nice enough for business travellerPosted Oct 18, 2012
Pros: Nice room. Nice ambiance. Greek people are very hard working and very friendly.
Cons: Basic errors in staff behaviour. They were put right, but it was hard work.
Location: 10 minute bus journeys to centre of town. But nothing nearby for food etc.
This is a nice hotel, but really set up for conferences. If you are looking for a few nights on a business trip, I would suggest you look elsewhere. However, I stress that this is a nice hotel. I'm sure it does what it does very well. It just didn't do for a single traveler very well.

Business Class good valuePosted Sep 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
The stay was generally very good. Sat. TV was missing channels, no CNN/BBC News, only EuroNews. Wireless in room was outstanding, high speed and reliable. Slight amount of noise from the fans and traffic in the early morning. Excellent breakfast service. The neighbourhood is safe, however it is at the commercial point, excellent for business, not so convenient for the downtown, however shuttles and taxi are plentiful. Overall, 4 1/2 out of 5 stars and we will stay again.
