affordable luxury in Newport

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: clean, nice. close to all the restaurants, nice view.
Cons: Looks like its already being done. The elevator was slow, but they were building a new one.
Location: Walking distance to the beach access, restaurants, shops, but on a quiet side street.
We had two rooms, one for us, one for our teenagers. The rooms were very clean, very nice. We loved the fireplaces and private balconies. The staff when we checked in were especially nice.

Wonderful stay

Posted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: Clean
Cons: They are building a new elevator at this time.... A nice addition.
Location: Best spot right on the beach!
Everything was great. Nice staff, clean room with a wonderful view. Only minor issue was the pilot light in the fireplace kept blowing out- it was very windy. Will stay here again for sure!

Nice getaway!

Love the beach so any hotel with beach view is great in my book! Very well insulated, didn't hear the little kid crying next door at all.

Excellent place

Pros: The location to the beach!
Cons: The elevator is quite slow!
The Elizabeth St Inn is a great place. Right on the beach and the balconies looking out over the beach is fantastic. The breakfast was real good. The smoked salmon chowder was really good and the cookies were so delicious. The pool and hot tub were good too. Had a really great time.

Very pleasant surprise

Posted Jan 8, 2014
I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the Elizabeth Street Inn is. Fireplace in the room. Bed was comfy. Room was large. Balcony overlooking the beach. Salmon chowder served complimentary in the evening. Breakfast was your typical hotel hot breakfast, but passable. We'll definitely go back. Two odd things. There are no stairs in the lobby, so if you want to get there it's either the slow elevator or going down the stairs to the parking garage and going outside (but under cover) and then entering the lobby. Also, you have to walk across the parking garage to get to the pool. We weren't expecting to have to walk outside when heading to the pool, so we didn't take shoes and the concrete was COLD and scratchy on the feet. They do provide robes in the rooms for you to use, but it's still odd.

Excellent place to stay!

Overall it was great, but the rooms are always so hot! We've stayed here every December for years, and typically sleep with the sliding glass door open to keep the room cool.
