“Close to Oregon Aquarium”

Great location if you are visiting Oregon Aquarium. Rooms are spacious and include microwave and mini-fridge. Fireplace did not work and furniture a little worn. Continental breakfast not avail until 9am.

“Great place for the money”

The room wasnice witha close proximity to the Rogue Brewery. Staff was courteous and the establishment was quiet. The flickerinwg light in the bathroom was reminiscent of an old horror flick (very enertaining). All in all it was a great place to stay.

“Good for the money!”

We thought this was a nice room for the money spent. It was clean and any extra items we needed, they gave us immediately. It was a great location for us since it was really close the Newport Aquarium, which is where we were planning to take the kids. The only down side for us was the free breakfast. All they did was put out some muffins, nothing else. I've never had a hotel offer free continental breakfast and only offer muffins. It felt like they just wanted to be able to add free breakfast to the hotel listing. Other hotels I've stayed in offered much more for the breakfast and with a family of growing boys, we need a little more then just muffins. Other then that, it was a great room with a great location. We were able to take a walk in the evening down to a fishing dock and it was just beautiful.

“it is what i expected for a 2 star hotel.”

We only stayed 1 night and spent little time in the room. It had an interesting smell to it and I think it was a combination of the building being old and the room having probably been a smoking room at some point. That being said, my expectations for the place weren't high when I booked the room. The location was great for going to the rogue brewery across the way and the aquarium was also nearby. The only thing that really bugged me was the weird flickering light in the bathroom.

“Newport coast”

The overall experience with staff was exceptional but the cleanliness of the room was below exceptable...we found a used diabetic test strip with blood on it on the stand beside the couch, a molded cookie under the bed, filth in the vents, mud and dirt of large wuanity in the glass door rail, unsecured floor trim in front of the jacussi tub and the toilet seat was not secured and moved every time you needed to use it

“Disappointed”

Size of the room was great and we had a small outside deck. Things appeared clean at first but we began noticing quite a few stains in the carpet and furniture. The couch arms had about 1/4 inch of dust on the upper portion - a spot obviously missed often by the cleaning crew. The biggest disappointment was the false advertising of a continental breakfast which ended up being weak coffee (all regular/no decaf) and about 5 muffins. Nothing else offered (no fruit, juice, pastries, toast, etc.). The rooms did not have coffee makers (another disappointment) but had a small fridge, microwave and hairdryer. The TV was incredibly small for a large room with 2 queen beds. We had to both watch on one bed because you couldn't see from the other one. AND, they only had a VCR - we were guaranteed late check in but the lobby closed at 9pm (we got there at 9:10). We were not allowed back into the lobby to pick out a movie - the only place in town you could get a VCR tape to watch. I suppose you get what you pay for - we did sleep well and it seemed quiet enough. We were glad it was only 1 night.

“Will not return”

The lay out of the room pretty much looked like the picture, however the bed and bedding was very old and the pillows were flat and very used. As we were leaving I was sitting on the couch and looked over at the bed and noticed that under the bed was SO DIRTY you could see the line of dirt from where they dont ever vacuume under the bed!! For the price we paid to stay there i would of expected a lot more from the hotel. Finally when we were leaving I used the computer in the front and had to listen to the employees talk badly about several guests... I am sure they talked badly about us to.

“Find someplace else.”

The "breakfast" was available from 8 to 9 a.m. and consisted of several large muffins cut in quarters. The hot tub was scary, peeling paint, moldy tiles. Mold in the bathroom as well. Old TV's with VCR's. A very musty smell. Opened the window for a couple of hours to air things out. The room had a fireplace but a sign saying the fireplaces were not working. We were glad we had planned little time and only one night here. Our focus was on the aquarium and other sites in Newport.

“Certainly not worth the money I paid”

There was a smell throughtout the hotel that was nausiating. The hot tub was empty and not usable. The toilet seat in the room was made from the stone ages. It was rough and non "seatable". I am glad I only stayed one nite!. I should have booked at the Bates hotel!
