Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Rooms
Location: Good. beach to walk on
Very disappointing,rooms are out of date ,in need of updating TV,Wallpaper, painting,bed,etc. At the price not worth the stay would not recommend this motel. I know I will never return.There are much better place's,for less!!!!!

Needs MAJOR updating/remodeling!!

The place is just old and rusty! They've painted over the doors so much the paint is chipping off all over. There are rust stains all over the outside. The hotel sits at a slant which you can feel. The floor under the carpet in our room had lil dips n dents in it. The wallpaper is old/outdated, discolored, and peeling off. The doors to the rooms do not stay open. The slam shut unless you had the door and prevent the slamming (not cool in the middle of the night when you are trying to sleep). The two pools were disgusting. Even after they apparently cleaned them the water looked murky. The menus in the restaurant are falling apart and old. The food was good. Though it took a very long time to get our cocktails! Our tv remote in our room didn't work. The showers are old. The chairs in our room look like a dog chewed on them. The bed was fine. This is the second Shilo I've stayed at and the experience was not a great one. The first one was so bad that the GM of the hotel comped our entire stay.

I was fairly disappointed with my stay, the room was very small and smelled funny. I thought for spending almost 200 bucks it would be a lot nicer. On the plus side the staff was very friendly.

Good Room

Pros: Convenience, location, accessibility. Was happy to have parking right in front of room.
Cons: The cafe should remain open for lunch. The hotel should offer continental breakfast.
Location: Great location, between two light houses, near restaurants. In between all attractions to visit. You have to visit the Aquarium and their cafe!
Was happy with the room, service, housekeeping, and the cafe. Housekeeping did a good job, but we wished that our sheets were changed out like they should have been during our 7 day stay. The room temp was good, the view was facing the ocean like we had hoped, but we were a little disappointed with the A Building roof directly below. The washer in the Laundry room wasn't good for getting rid of the sand, but the dryer did its job in removing the unwanted sand. The cafe was nice and the food was good and the waiter was very nice. The only thing needed to improve was the need for more staff with such busy mornings, and it would be nice to see the cafe open for lunch as well. Would have appreciated continental breakfast for the price we paid as well, and we thought on their website it was posted that they offer fresh fruit and popcorn all day, but that just wasn't the case. It was nice having access to an ice machine as well. Overall, it was a wonderful week in Newport and we are pleased with the room and service we received from Shilo Inns.

This is a 1970's hotel that needs refurbishing. The bathroom was clean and the shower was good. The beds are comfortable. The rooms have a peculiar smell probably because they are dog friendly which I didn't realize when I booked our room. We had to move rooms because the first room smelled like human BO. They used an ionizer to refresh it. The staff were great and addressed all of our needs. The restaurants were pretty good. They serve a great bread pudding. Wonderful beach access and water view. Noisy hotel. Overall it was an okay hotel that I would most recommend to someone with a pet.

Furniture is worn and Tv was very old. Not what we expected from a Shiloh Inn. No screens on windows and we were on the third floor so it was not safe to open window.

Location: Great city, love it.
No in room AC.........too many people sitting in parking lot drinking beer, might have been the wrong weekend to go to beach. Would not pay this price for this room again.

The view was incredible and the beach access was very close, but for what we paid, the hotel was not up to standard. I was disappointed by the quality of the hotel. Dirty windows!

Because it was a busy weekend at the coast, we were shoveled into the "old" section of the hotel (section A). Doors were dirty, tubs need to be scrubbed with bleach - black mold in grout and caulk. Carpets were old and dirty. We went and stayed with friends in Depoe Bay as it was depressing to stay there. Not a bargain at $150 a night when we couldn't even sleep there..
