“Just not what we were looking for”
This hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful but the place felt like it just needed updating. The room had a gas fireplace, no real use in Sep and TV DVD player with Cable. The bath room is very small, normal size folks will find it tight, a bigger guy needs to shower standing sideways. to top it off the sink is on the other end of the hotel room. Finally the hotel has no AC it rain quite a bit during our visit and thought the temps were fine the humidity made for some discomfort sleeping. Maybe the place is great in the winter with cold and snow but for the fall it is not my first choice.
“Great View of Killington Mountain”
Our room was on the upper floor with a balcony looking straight at the mountain. The room was a bit outdated, but clean and comfortable. There was a good sized mini fridge and small TV and DVD player in the room, a billards table in the common room, and a great gathering den down the hall which would be perfect 'apres ski'(especially if traveling with a large group of family and friends). The den has large comfy furniture and a fireplace. The night check-in staff was helpful with friendly advice for local restaurants and activities - she clearly knew the area well. While I wouldn't call the hotel 'posh', and if you do get a balcony room it will not have a king sized bed, it was a pleasant place to stay that I would recommend to others looking for a great location that won't break the bank.
“Quaint Hotel Property - Great Location”
The value of the Mountain Inn is its proximity to Killington base lodges, and its reliable and friendly transportation to the mountain. It's not a fancy hotel but the staff is accommodating and pleasant, our room was nice, clean, with a flat screen tv. The restaurant is overpriced for the food quality. (Heli's Restaurant in the Mendon Mountainview Hotel is far superior and more reasonably priced. Their apple streudal is made on-site and is outrageous.)
“Green Mountain stopover”
We toured New England in fall 2011 and stayed over in Killington en route between the White Mountains in New Hampshire and the Berkshire Hills in Massachussets. Killington was a convenient stopover between the two, and we chose the Mountain Inn from the Expedia and hotel websites. Unlike other guest reports we found the Inn easy to find at the top of the road from the traffic lights off the main highway - it might have been more tricky via the recommended East Mountain Road but fortunately that was closed when we got there. The resort is a skiing centre so very quiet in October, and only 10 rooms in the hotel were ocupied, so the restaurant was closed - but the desk clerk helpfully directed to others which were open, including Garlc (Italian) which was excellent. Due to low occupancy we were upgraded free to a room with a balcony and a good view of the mountains and the fall foliage. Breakfast was basic but provided all we needed. With no snow around the hotel looked quite dull from the outside and the public spaces quite dingy, but the bedroom wsa comfortable and spotlessly clean.
“Not impressed”
stay was ok not the best for the price would probably stay a crossed the street the next time
“Not impressed”
The bed comforter was had a hole and had stains on the comforter of bleach all over. I was not impressed at all I work at a hotel. The people were very nice. The walls are thin like paper. Can hear all the noise from the hallways. The good thing is that the hotel is at the only feets from the ski area which was nice.
“Might go back”
We only stayed for one night. Our stay was average. The only complain I have is the owner should have the driveway and parking lot paved, lots of holes, it almost ruined my car. The view of the mountain is breathtaking!
“Hotel (like most in Killington) stuck firmly in the 70's”
Average hotel very close to the Killington Snowshed lodge. Like most hotels at Killington this hotel badly needs a facelift. Room furniture and decor and the rest of the hotel stuck firmly in the 70's (maybe early 80's if I feel generous :-) ) The room was clean and the complimentary breakfast was OK. Front desk staff were nice and friendly and very helpful when we needed additional bed linens for the room. I would stay here again but not at full (high season) price. I'd rather find a more up to date hotel in Rutland and suffer the 20 min drive to the Mountain.
“loved the view but not impressed with service”
First off the view was unbelievable from our balcony room. the guy at the front desk was very nice.. Im kind of having a 50-50 thought of going back here cos it was cheap.. throughout the hotel there was this smell that i can't really explain but i couldn't stand it i had a buy lysol for my room.. the room was overall clean but we went friday n stayed till sunday.. not once was my room clean! we came back in after a wonderful day of sightseeing to find that our room was not clean and it was just the way we left it! and also the room heater did not work so we were freezing. Also it said we would be provided a breakfast.. the breakfast consisted of orange juice that tasted days old, toast, and bagels that was all.. the room that it was served in was not clean the cups hanging had dust everywhere! and breakfast was said to be open till 11.. they rushed us and closed it at 10:05 not even 2 seconds of walking in because the guy wanted to go home.. I wasn't happy with the stay but what can i say now.. it happened.. just make sure u bring lysol when you go to spray down your room
“maybe again”
Staff were able to help us with anything we asked for, so long as we asked for it. 2 of the 3 people working the desk were great; 1 of them tried to avoid contact. NOISY!
