Excellent hotel for naples area.

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Liked the split levels having the bedroom upstairs made you feel like you had more room.
Cons: Beds could be softer and higher of the ground. Breakfast could have more hot foods.
Location: Nothing to do in the area but walkable distance to train station for travel to Pompeii.
Rooms were nice and airy, beds were very hard, slightly uncomfortable but very clean. Hotel and staff exceptional. The area and hotel grounds made the stay very pleasant.

Pros: Very welcoming and helpful staff. Very good food.
Cons: Location.
Location: An okay location, there were a few food places and clothes shops nearby. There is a supermarket close by. If only it was closer to Naples!

Good home base: amazing grounds and staff!

Posted Nov 6, 2013
Pros: Location was good, food was very good. Staff was outstanding and extremely helpful as a concierge. Friendly local cat was a major bonus.
Cons: The beds and bedding are the worst I've ever encountered in a hotel anywhere.
Location: Not much nearby, but a 15 minute train ride gets you into the heart of Napoli and all that's there. Pompeii was about 45 min by train.
The hotel is a bit off the beaten path, not necessarily a bad thing, but the cost of a taxi from one of the waterfront piers to the hotel was very high. Best way to get there is to call the front desk and ask them to get you a cab from Garibaldi train station, they can get you a ride for less than half price. Others have described the area around the hotel as somewhat rough, but that really isn't true. We walked to and from the train station every day both in the morning and late at night and never felt in any way unsafe. Walk to the Cercola train station was about 10 minutes. The rooms all have a porch of some kind; ours had an amazing view of the gardens on one side and Vesuvius on the other. Although the weather was nice enough to keep the windows and doors open at all times, we did try the air conditioner and noticed that it didn't actually produce cold air. The bed/s are two twin beds pushed together or separated if you desire. They are phenomenally uncomfortable; it felt like sleeping directly on the box spring. I think we chose to stay in spite of the beds because of the amazing courtyard and how pleasant it was to sit out under the huge tree and drink the extraordinary house red wine. They also have a very friendly little black hotel cat that loves people. She was always a welcome addition to our group. :) The WiFi was overall fast, but required a unique username and password for each device and a new login every time you moved.

Everything! An extremely beautiful Hotel

Our stay was amazing. The view is divine. We got an ocean view and we loved it. The hotel is just pristine. The breakfast is delicious. The pool overlooks the ocean. Amazing views from the hotel. Also, the staff are extremely nice and take you into town and pick you up. You can’t go wrong with this hotel. It is a far away from Capri city center but you can easily get to the city center with the bus. It is super easy. When I go back to Capri, I will definitely be staying here again!

A True Gem !!!

Posted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I arrived in Naples on a Thursday afternoon and we stayed one night at this little gem of a hotel. Our intention to rest before we headed on down to the Amalfi Coast the next day. WOW - were we impressed!! For starters the staff was so friendly and very helpful!! The hotel is nestled in a very nice neighborhood and was cozy, quaint, beautiful and relaxing. The beautiful courtyard was surrounded by huge rosemary plants and very comfortable outdoor seating. The pathway leading from the courtyard to the gardens is lined with lavender plants offering up a soft scent of rosemary and lavender everywhere. Our room was accessed from the courtyard and it spread over two floors. Very comfortable, clean and AMAZING water pressure. Loved the shower!! We did walk around the neighborhood and felt totally safe. We when left on Friday the hotel staff were getting the gardens ready for a couple of weddings - not sure how quiet it would be to stay over the weekend. Need to know: Great restaurant around corner from hotel- the pizza and pasta to die for and great prices. (no one spoke any English in the neighborhood nor at the restaurant - so get familiar with your Italian before adventuring out)!! Great Experience - I highly recommend and would stay there again.

Nice hotel near airport

Pros: Beautiful facility, near airport.
Cons: Shuttle to airport.
Location: N/A, just stayed on last night before flight out.
Beautiful facility, accommodating staff. Not too nice neighborhood, but gated parking and seemed very secure. Restaurant nice, OK food, high prices. $30 cab ride to airport, shuttle to train station. 20 minutes by car to airport.

Lovely hotel in a horrible area

Posted Sep 14, 2013
Pros: It was a haven in an area with not much going for it
Location: Not good, nothing to do within walking distance and we would happily walk 4 to 5 miles for a decent meal. An area of Italy with no Pizza!!!
The hotel grounds, facilities and rooms were great. Unfortunately it was in an area that was not nice and had no restaurants so you had to eat at the hotel every night unless you were willing to tackle Naples. We wanted Pizza and Naples was where was recommended by the hotel, it is the home Pizza. We did try and even with a sat nav and good directions from the hotel staff, closed roads and one way streets meant that we had to turn back after an hour and return to the hotel. We had a two night stop over here and the staff were helpful and polite Proximity to Herculaneum and Pompei if you have a car is good. No other reason really to stay here.

A hidden gem of a hotel

Posted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: The chef was very accommodating to what we could eat. Very tranquil setting. Staff friendly and helpful. It was a very clean hotel.
Cons: The vi fi connection could be stronger.
Location: The hotel is very trucked away and quiet, so easily missed, yet only a few hundred meters from an autostrada, In the Vesuvius dominates the sky line
Relais Villa Buonanno, a great place to base oneself , great cuisine, and friendly staff. Tucked away. A short walk from both bus and train with direct links to the centre of Naples, for visiting sites of interest. Rooms clean and spacious, the air conditioning was a little noisy, but we don't have this at home. For car drivers there is secure parking/ This historic building has been tastefully brought up to date, Wi Fi is available but the links are variable.
