It is a nice resort. I really enjoyed the trail in the rain forest, but the 3 km rough road leading to the hotel was a headache.

good views

Pros: the view was beautiful
Cons: room
Location: needs to improve the road
They do not have essential things in the room.. Like T.V. , Phone, enough towel , pen Pad & lights. They need to update the things . It was very disappointing . Thanks.

A true rainforest adventure...

Pros: Beautiful setting, friendly staff and well-maintained rooms/grounds.
Cons: Last road (2 km) to the hotel was a little rough and it was outside of town. More peaceful and safe, but more isolated too. Car recommended.
Location: The hotel is located in Chachagua, about 20 min. outside of Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano park and about 3 hours from San Jose airport.
This hotel was wonderful. It was a little ways outside of town (20 min. or so) and I would recommend an SUV to get there, but the setting was beautiful, the bungalows were peaceful and the staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. They have a nice bar and restaurant on site with free full breakfast, wi-fi and computers available, well-marked hiking trails on the grounds and a beautiful pool.

Worth a little extra driving.

Really cool place. A little out of the way but easy to find and worth the extra 10 min of travel. The place is on the edge of the rain forest and although the bungalows are superbly appointed (best shower of my life), you really feel like you are plugged in to the natural beauty of the region. Food was great!

It was a very nice hotel but the road that you have to take for 2 km is horrible. I think that if they pave the road it would be much better. It was perfect for the engagement proposal but it would of been better if the road was different. It is a secluded hotel but the surrounding are perfect. No TV, phone or internet in your room which makes it very romantic.

Fine for a night but bring something to do

Posted Jul 7, 2012
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: No TV or games
Although about 2 km off the main road on a rocky road, it prepares you for the road to Monteverde. Nice grounds, friendly staff, and very good food. No TV, which was missed since it rained in the evening and we did not have any games or anything else to pass our time. Very basic, but fine for the one night stay.

Great Experience!!!

Very enjoyable and relaxing. Staff was very helpful and provided great recommendations for tours and sites to visit in the area. Evening dinners at the hotel were very well prepared. Strongly recommend this hotel as part of a Costa Rica experience!
