“Dinner and drinks with no driving....”

especially liked that it was in a little complex of old buildings housing a bistro, good restaurant, art gallery. we could drink over dinner and not have to drive back to hotel. also liked that it was on Rte 1, just a few miles from Longwood, Brandywine Museum, antique shops. Great little find, and we'd definitely go back and recommend to anyone visiting those attractions

“Wonderful experience”

We were looking for a local hotel to enjoy the sights in the area. (Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, etc.) From the first moment we walked in the door. The staff person made us feel welcome directing us to the tea and cookies. the rooms were spacious, clean and allowed us a quiet evening to rest up and get ready for our next day's outing! Will be making this an annual event or even a little bit more often. We couldn't have been happier!

“Great Brandywine Weekend”

I greatly enjoyed the hotel. The hotel staff was great, the room was nice, and the grounds were amazing.

Very pleasant hotel. I would certainly reccomend it to any one visiting the area. rooms were clean and big enough. breakfeast was very adequatealthough largelyacold fare, ecept for the waffles you could make. One morning the coffee was not as hot as I tlike but the other mornings it was fine. All the personel were friendly. A terrific value and a great location. Several good places to eat in walking distance.Rooms had a nice traditional decor as did the entire hotel.

Enjoyed the room and the hotel. We went at an off peak time of season and couldn't beat the price (thru Expedia). Great value! Staff was very helpful, answered all our questions. Pleasantly surprised with breakfast, there was no need to go elsewhere which allowed an early start to our day. Lots to do within 10 miles.

The hotel was as expected. The front desk clerk was very disappointing. She answered our direct questions, but offered no assistance. I had to ask if breakfast was included and when were the times. There was obviously a tea happening when we arrived and I had to ask if that was something that was offered every day and what were the times. These are all things I felt should've been explained up front. The Brandywine River Valley Museum is free to visitors on Sundays from 9:30 am - 12 noon. Again, I would think that would be something they would explain to guests, since it's practically across the street and she saw us taking brochures. The water for the tea was cold and we had to ask if they would refill the cookies and tea bags when they were low. Also, the hotel allows pets and a couple went out and left their dog barking for the hour plus they were out at dinner. There were many complaints about that. The owners had asked the desk clerk if they could leave the dog. They should've been told "no" or at least asked for their cell phone if there were complaints. But overall the hotel is nice and very conveniently located. A good deal for the price.
