Nice, but....

Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Lovely decor, very nice staff, situated in the heart of the Brandywine Valley. Quiet, cozy.
Cons: The plumbing and snow removal need attention. Huge sheets of snow were sliding off of the entry overhang. Little to no rock salt was used.
Location: There are lots of antiques, Hank's Place, the Brandywine River museum. Close to other museums. In the summer and fall, one can hike the parks.
Came for a winter break with my bff. We had to remove snow that was pretty, but dangerous. Sink backed up with debris, water would not go down. Sweet desk clerk had to fix the sink.Almost impossible to get a cab in the area.

I stayed one night. I have stayed at this hotel several times before. It is convenient to Longwood Gardens, which is where I was visiting. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is free WiFi. The services are basic. Breakfast, which is included, is self-serve and includes hard-boiled eggs, cereals, juices, breads, pastries and coffee. Overall, a good value.

Clean and comfortable, but needs some extras

Posted Nov 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Had been here before when they still had a real WOOD fireplace and beer or wine in the lobby guest area along with fresh cookies at the front desk - missed those special touches which make it an inn, not just another average hotel. But it was very clean and comfortable, with a modified "Cable" service showing only networks and MANY shopping channels - something the TV fans might not like. Excellent location for a visit to the wonderful Museum or other historical points of interest.

Nice hotel in pleasant location.

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Classic appearance and furnishings. Ample parking.
Cons: Our GPS did not recognize hotel address, when we called we were advised to enter the address of restaurant on the same block.
Location: Historic area with many local attractions.
Overall pleasant stay, nice room, necessary amenities, nearby dining.
