Stop at Panama's historic ruins, it's an excellent way to familiarize yourself with the area's rich history.
Breathe deeply and feel your stresses melt away as you have a go at some of the area's more relaxing pastimes such as bird watching and sunbathing. Should you hear the call to adventure, follow the lead of local thrill seekers and go zip-lining and mountain biking.
Discover the true heart of the Panama culture by taking your tastebuds for a tour of the region's cafés. Cooks in this area commonly make use of rice and plantains in the food they cook. All-time favorite meals are tamales (corn dough rolls) and corvina (baked fish), but of course there are many more Panama options for real food lovers. But your meal is not really complete until you have enjoyed raspados (ice topped with sweet syrup), a common dessert. Find a comfy bar and order a Balboa while you are here. It is one of the region's most beloved beers. Resbaladera (chilled barley and rice drink) is popular drink to order at any time of day.
