While the hotel was a bit of a central area, the welcoming and helpful staff were fantastic. Very impressive. The room was exceptional. Can not say enough good things about the hotel and would highly recommend it.

Staying in Plaza Santa Barbara, where the hotel is located, you can walk just about anywhere. We never took the bus or the subway, even if we spent four days in Madrid. We walk to the Wonderful Convent of the Descalzas- which I highly recommend- to the Gran Via, and to the Puerta del Sol. Thanks to the hotel location, we even walked in the other direction, to the wonderful Jazz Bar "Clamores".

"Excellent hotel, in pleasant area close to metro"
I planned an Easter city break to Spain with my teenage daughter. I wanted a hotel which was comfortable, handy for getting to the city centre, easily accessible from the airport, and had a heated pool which we could use for free all day. It took a bit of research, but I found all this in the Santo Mauro in Madrid. It fulfilled all the criteria and more. Felt like a luxury break, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Well situated for the Canal Metro stop. Helpful friendly staff (especially Isabel in the restaurant and Carlos on the front desk).
My single room was clean and comfy. I didn't use the air conditioning so I can't comment on that
The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice, including gluten free options. Lovely toiletries, free papers. What's not to like?
I would go back if I ever go back to Madrid

Ideal location for hopping on/off Metro. *Airport easy access - #8 train to #10 - one stop and short walk to hotel (r/t - 9€).
Close to bakeries, wine bars, local grocery store (great wine prices). Room was modern, beds dreamy and desk w comfort chair to work.
Service: Friendly & helpful. 6:00AM the restaurant not yet open and my Krupp maker did not work - so desk manager delivered my "perfect coffee" pronto & with a smile! Would definitely stay here again - one night not enough.

Stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is very good and I would recommend the Sunday brunch. Do try the gin and tonics, they are expensive but worth it.

One kilometer north of the city center, this quintessential Spanish neighborhood draws those who want stay in a tranquil atmosphere. Described as one of the prettiest barrios in Madrid, Chamberí's tree-lined streets lead to cafés, independent shops, art galleries, and parks. With easy access to metro stations and opportunities for golf, this community also includes the charming Sorolla Museum.
