"Better than most"
We stayed in three different hotels during our 5-day trip through the east coast. This hotel was better than even the more expensive ones. At the center of town sits Memorial Fountain, honoring Civil War soldiers. Downtown is also home to the Mary Ritner House, where abolitionist John Brown briefly lived, and the Old Jail, believed to have been a stop on Underground Railroad. Each July, the town celebrates its rebirth after the 1864 Confederate Burning with ChamberFest and in autumn, the area’s main crop is celebrated at AppleFest.
