“Decent place for the price”

This was better than expected. Due to a marathon most of the hotels were sold out. I've had a previous bad experience at a Motel 6 so was a little reluctant. This hotel, though, seemed newer and clean. The stairwell was a little dirty but the room was fine. It had a desk area with two chairs, free wi-fi, no amenities except a bar of soap and tp, but clean and decent. I would stay there again.

“Good bang for your buck”

I'd recommend this for someone looking for an affordable night stay. It was a comfortable bed, clean room, and free WiFi. There was not one thing wrong with the cleanliness of the room. The staff were helpful and did exactly what they needed (nothing above and beyond), the bed was very comfortable- though the pillows were slightly thin, and overall the condition of the hotel was good. It was well lit, no peeling paint or any significant blemishes, etc. One funny thing was that the pool was filled in with sand. Pools are very expensive to keep so I get it, but it was funny.

I took a chance and booked after reading not-so-great reviews, because of a great rate and convenience to U of I. Very glad I did... for the price, it was a nice place to stay! Front desk clerk was friendly, room was clean and seemed fairly-recently updated. There was a nice-sized fridge in room, as well as microwave, and flat screen TV mounted on wall. No amenities other than soap, but I bring my own, anyway. Plenty of clean towels & washcloths as well. There used to be an outdoor pool, but it has now been filled in. (could use some landscaping or a patio there). Doors/walls may be a bit thin, but front desk clerk put us in a quiet 1st floor spot. Housekeeping was pleasant and very busy cleaning nearby rooms & glass doors when we left our room. When visiting my son at U of I, I will definitely stay here again!

“No hot water”

There was no hot water in the bathroom. No toilet paper holder. No tissues. Snow and ice on the entryways and drives. Room was clean. Front desk attendant was friendly.

“A Good Value - simple and clean”

The hotel was clean and comforable enough but with very few amenities which didn't matter to me because I only used it for sleeping and showering. It was conveniently located by the freeway and the University of Illnios, which is all that mattered to me. A good value for the money.

“Clean but sparse; no blanket!”

I booked in at Motel 6 in Urbana, and this was the last room available on a busy weekend for U of I. The room was very clean, but sparse. The bath towels were more the size of hand towels. I was disturbed to find there was no blanket on my bed, and it was going to be a cold night. I called down to the office, but was told there were no more extra blankets in the hotel. Fortunately, she told me, they could "borrow" a blanket from another room. They were able to find me a blanket, and the stay was comfortable. I still find it disturbing that Motel 6 can't even stock extra supplies on a weekend when the hotel prices triple because it's a special weekend at the University.

“Average”

Pretty much what you except from this general class of hotel. Although was surprised there was no breakfast. Beds were surprisingly hard. Friendly desk staff.

“Horrible! Would never stay there again!”

I booked a non smoking room, I was told they were overbooked and none were available. Upon going to the room, the hallway smelled heavily of smoke, I opened the door to the room and immediately started coughing because of the smoke. I stayed approximately, 4 minutes in the room, enought to call the front desk and tell them that this was unexceptable. Our bags picked up the odor from the room, along with our clothes that quickly, that is how bad it is. Fortunely, when I went back to the desk, another man was checking in and heard of the problem and was nice enought to switch rooms. The floors in the hotel are not even, it like walking in a fun house, you are walking up and down, they are slanted, very poorly maintained! I would never stay here again!
