A boutique with stylePosted Apr 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
A classy boutique guesthouse with stylish furnishings, excellent breakfasts, quiet location and friendly staff. We really enjoyed four nights at the Ionas and wished we had been able to stay longer. Our only complaint is that the en suite bathroom was cramped by the unnecessary inclusion of a spa bath that took up too much space, was too noisy to run for the sake of relaxation and required more hot water than was available. This quibble aside, we would happily return again.

Loved it. I'm still on the trip ... Why does the review need to be longer

wonderful late night arrival!Posted May 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Incredibly friendly hotel, we had advised hotels.com we were arriving at airport at midnight. Amazed to be phoned by Georgia, lovely receptionist, before left home about location, how to direct taxi, etc. Room building breakfast all good. What's more opposite is Vineria winebar, still open at 1230 am, serving good wine and excellent food. Sitting in Sarpaki, almost opposite ionas, with bougainvillea growing over ancient walls and rustic doorways, was a great treat.

A gem of a hotel.Posted Apr 11, 2013
Pros: The stylish blend of modern amenity with the olde world charm of the area. Traffic free streets add peace and tranquility,
Location: In the old part of Chania with lovely Tavernas close by and all the best sights and the lively parts of town only minutes away.
A clean and beautifully renovated building in a lovely part of Chania. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome and typify the warm and friendly Cretan way of things. I would fully recommend this hotel and would use it again without hesitation.

Very pleasant visitPosted Aug 25, 2012
Extremely well furnished hotel. Very clean and well maintained. We used the open balcony on the second floor which was very peaceful/relaxing. Bit tricky to find at first but well within walking distance of the harbour/old town.

Ionas - plenty of character, great locationPosted Oct 28, 2011 on Hotels.com
The best two things about the Ionas was the building itself (beautiful, coverted old home) and its location. Located down a winding passage, it can be hard to find but for me that was a plus. Regardless, it is close to the harbour, museums, and restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good enough but lacked more substantive food. Staff was polite and helpful, though no one was there when I arrived and had to phone.

Hotel Ionas - an amazing find!Posted Apr 29, 2011 on Hotels.com
This is a very special place in a quiet spot in the old town. The rooms are beautifully appointed and are very spacious. We were given a wonderful welcome and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Highly recommended. George from Western Australia
