I liked the fact the property is on the beach. The pool is beautiful and clean. I did not like the fact there is no restaurant on the property. Only a snack bar in the pool area.

The self contained accommodation at Zorbas Beach Village hotel was very nice and it included everything you might need even for a longer stay (e.g. small electric oven & stove, microwave, all utensils you might need...). We also enjoyed the two private balconies and large kitchen/lounge with tv. We particularly liked the fact that reception left few mosquitoes repellent plugs as this was a nice touch. The complex is in a quiet narrow lane a bit isolated from the main town, but easily reachable either by car or by their free shuttle bus. Only "negative" note is that the we discovered the very nice pool was only open in the afternoon (after 2.30pm) which was a bit of a bummer as we planned to use it in the morning, as well as the fact that the small private beach didn't have any umbrella and few chairs. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay.

Very nice, relaxing, clean and friendly. Homes are well equipped and comfortable. Food is very good as well. Nice bar, pool area and beach. Couple more beaches nearby. Two Supermarkets down town about one mile away. You can ask for free transportation. Transfer to airport 30 euros. Nice play area for kids. Only one other restaurant nearby. Bus stop to Chania and Stavros centre about 500 metres on main road. We had lovely Holidays half term October. Very recommended. We will visit again!

Good location for exploring the area. Lovely pool, beautiful gardens excellent friendly staff who were always accommodating. Typical Greek Taverna with lovely food right next door. The perfect place to relax which is what we were looking for. We would go back.

The hotel located in front of a beach, but that is like 20 yard in diameter. The real beaches are not directly accessible from the hotel. You have to go around the town (15 min walk for a closest beach). After all, the ocean view is great and it was quiet as not really summer season yet.

Quiet and removed from the crowds
Friendly and helpful staff at front desk. Room was fine with a hard bed. No coffee maker though. Nice view of gardens and out to the sea. Dinner was pretty good for the second night of operation but the view from the deck made up for it.

Great stay
We stayed at the Zorbas Beach Village Hotel the last week in April and it was really great. As it was the very beginning of the 'holiday season', the hotel was quiet and very pleasant. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a two bedroom apartment which was great; a kingsize bed in the open plan front room and two single beds in the back room. We had a terrace at the front and back, both with a table and chairs, so we could always catch the sun! The apartment had a small kitchenette which was more than adequate with a microwave and two-ring hot plate for cooking (pans, basic utensils, crockery, glassware and cutlery provided). Towels were provided and were changed at least once during our stay. We ate breakfast at the hotel a few mornings - this was really good value at 8 euros as there is lots of choice and it's seemingly unlimited. We were able to order the breakfast items we wanted, but maybe there is a breakfast buffet when the tourist season picks up, as there was a table with a buffet set up that we didn't see used during our stay. The food at the hotel (we only tried evening meals, not lunch) was ok, and there is also a taverna next door (Thanasis) that was worth a visit. The best place we ate by a mile was the Sunset Taverna right on Stavros Beach - it's a short walk (maybe 20 mins) from the hotel and serves really delicious food. Everything was clean and well looked after.

perfect family time
this was the most relaxing holiday with stunning views. the kids facilities where right out side our rooms so we could just sit back on the veranda and enjoy the crystal clear sky with a bottle of local wine. the swimming pool over looks the sea which is breath taking. 100% going back

We stayed one night. There is a nice pool and a great view. The hotel is away from most of the activity areas in Crete so if you want to get out and see the sites you will need a car.

Roe family visit to Crete
A gem on the island of Crete beautifull location 20 mins away from chania airport great pool full of sea water clear as glass and no colder than a normal unheated pool lovely kids play area the restaurant is good but the menu is limited a car is a must at the hotel as the bus is not that regular if you like walking this is ideal location as a starting point to the great gourges around the area there are great restaurants in the area and we thought them cheap average for 4people and a child starters drinks and main meal 60 bucks and plenty big one bit of advice if your driving watch for the bends the cretaen drivers seem to be in the habit of coming on to your side of the road so keep plenty to your own side as much as you can when on the bends all the people we met on our holiday were lively both at the hotel and every where we went we found it enough to have a good week here on Crete as we don't do walking but the island and the hotel were absolutely gorgeous and the beach at stavros is unreal that's where we stayed for most of our holiday and within walking distance from the hotel there are very good restaurants on the beach as well just ask for directions 20 minutes at a casual walking pace 5mins in the car have a good one and don't let the flight times put you off its worth the visit

A good low cost option for saving money on rooms near Chania. The hotel is located a ways outside of Chania and the drive back and forth can be annoying. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Cook from Georgia did a good job making the food. Other kitchen staff seemed a bit cheap as they nickel-and-dimed us over every little thing. Rooms were good sized but made us nervous over people breaking in to steal stuff. One biggest concern is that this is a family hotel and yet there is no child-proof gate around the pool. That should be addressed promptly to keep children safe from drowning. Other than that, we were happy with this place.

We arrived late and maria made us a huge home made pizza it was fantastic, room was quiet except for the sound of the ocean, our needed aircon, but we only stayed for one night, so we didnt mind, waking in the morning to such a beautiful view was a real treat. our experience was basic but beautiful!!!!

Great little hotel by the beach
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is right by the sea and a small beach. It has a lovely salt water pool. Our stay was not expensive and the hotel was real value for money. The rooms are fairly basic but comfortable. They have most of the requirements for self catering. We would stay here again.

Hotel was excellent, service was great. Located in a very quiet spot and ideal for families. It maybe a good idea to rent a car as the local bus is very few and fair between but the hotel provides info and the bus stop is about a ten min walk. Close to the beach and our room came with a great see view, the pool was excellent as well.

Our two-year-old loved it
We took our two-year-old and infant on a vacation and this was a great place for us. They have a huge playground, a swimming pool, restaurant, and a small sandy beach on-site that is inside a rocky inlet which makes if a perfect beach for small kids as it's not too wild and is small enough that they can't get lost. It is also right next to a bigger beach for others. The "apartment" style rooms were great as you could eat dinner on your porch and watch the sunset as well as prepare your own food if you want. It is fairly close to the Chania airport and not too far to Chania itself. It's also close to the BEAUTIFUL "Triada Monastaries" hike. We LOVED it. Great hotel for the price!

Hotel was average, but on reflection, the price was very reasonable. Nice location and would be very good for families with small children on a low budget. Family run and friendly. Maria, a daughter, is an excellent cook, but unfortunately that facility along with the Bar was closed on October 1st , without notice, 5 days before we were due to leave. Very good swimming pool and childs play area...quiet and scenic.

This is out-of-the-way and we had to ask directions to find it. Few road signs. Lovely location, great sunsets, quiet. Nothing fancy. Family owned and operated with obvious love and caring. Dinner by the pool fixed by the owner's daughter. An authentic connection with Crete. Our veranda looked out on the rocky shore (beach nearby) for a memorable view of the full moon.

Relaxing Getaway
We enjoyed our stay at ZORBA. However, the grounds around the hotel were very rundown. The website advertised a beach bar and swim up pool bar. Neither one of those existed. The pool was great and the beach was great. We enjoed a nice hike up the mountain near the hotel and a relaxing lunch in Stavros. I would stay at ZORBAS again for the low price, but we were disappointed by the false advertisement.

On the first night we were not give the booked room (with fireplace) and there was no warm water working in that room. We complained next morning and were given then another room (with fireplace and separate bedroom, as we had booked such a room). Also there was a problem, whenever the water for the shower should be heated, the whole room's electricity broke down. I was so pissed about these constant problems, that went naked, just dressed with a towel to the reception and complained. Then we got the key to another room, where we were not allowed to stay, but just allowed to take the warm shower and go back to our room...not too nice overall...but the staff was friendly and tried their best. WARNING to travellers outside the summer season: They charge another 6 € per night for the heating!

Charmant petit village de vacances au bord de la mer, petite crique de sable. Comme on est au bout de la route, l'endroit est très calme et tranquille. Le personnel est très accueillant et aux petits soins. Les appartements sont propres, ménage fait et linge changé tous les jours. Pas de vis à vis entre appartements, charmant jardin fleuri et piscine magnifique. Bref un beau petit coin de paradis pour se reposer.

Rigtig fint hotel af ældre dato, men flot vedligeholdt. Beliggenhed er super med direkte adgang til lille privat strand. Omgivelserne er stille og rolige og ikke overfyldt. Gode lokale restauranter i nærheden. Fordel at have bil.

Établissement familial, très calme, à l’ecart de l’agitation touristique. Petits bungalows individuels en bord de mer et au cœur d’un joli jardin, avec petite terrasse individuelle. Équipés d’une kitchenette avec four micro ondes, plaques électriques et frigo. Air conditionné et coffre fort. Accueil extrêmement aimable et attentif, bons conseils sur les sites à visiter. Literie un peu trop dure à mon goût. Belle piscine avec vue sur la mer et la montagne. Proche de la plage de Stavros, accessible à pied.

Vi ankom kl. 14:00 og fik at vide, at vi ikke kunne få den bestilte lejlighed pga. 'plumming problems'. I stedet kunne vi få et lille studio + gratis morgenmad. Vi så det og var ikke interesserede. derfor bad jeg om at få vores penge tilbage, så vi kunne finde et andet overnatningssted. der blev ringet til manageren, som tilsyneladende sagde nej. Så blev vi sat til at vente, og ført 15:30 kunne vi få det, vi havde bestilt og betalt for, og jeg er helt sikker på, at det kun skete, fordi jeg var særdeles vedholdende i, at vi ville have det, vi havde betalt for eller have pengene retur. Da jeg spurgte, hvordan de pludseligt alligevel kunne fremskaffe en lejlighed, var svaret, at de ville forsøge at overtale andre gæster til et byt. Det er fuldstændig uacceptabelt, at vi skulle stå og vente 1½ time på at kunne booke ind - og uden nogen former for kompensation. De to damer i receptionen var venlige. Vi forsøgte adskillige at få kontakt med Hotels.com, men vi kunne ikke komme igennem deres telefonsluse. Vi blev ved med at få svaret, at det reservationsnummer, vi angav, ikke fandtes. Det er også helt uacceptabelt, at man i en nødsituation ikke altid kan få fat på Hotels.com. Vi har været kunder i firmaet i mange år, og det er første gang, vi har haft brug for hjælp - som vi så ikke kunne få.

Prisvärt med härlig utsikt. Små funktionella rum med bra kostnadsfri air condition. Rena rum som städas varje dag, handdukar skiftas var tredje dag och strandhandukar hämtar man i receprtionen var dag om man så vill. Bra kostnadsfritt WiFi, poolen har en vacker utsikt. Om man inte vill äta vid poolbaren så intill (2 min gång) så ligger där en trevlig liten taverna med grekiska köket på menyn, precis vid en liten vacker strand i en liten vik med kristallklart vatten.
