Americas Best Value Inn was not as it should be

Wearrived at about 7pm and checked in easily and quickly but after that it was a downward spiral. The room we were given smelled awful from either a disinfectant or recent exterminator. The rug was filthy as was the furniture. After a few minutes we decided to ask for a different room. The new room smelled better but there were still stains on the rug & furniture. The vent fan in the bathroom made a loud noise when switched on. Although there was coffee in the room there was no coffee maker (the previous room had both coffee and coffee maker) and there was an ironing board but no iron (again, the previous smelly room had both). We called the front desk to alert them of this and were told there wasn't any way for them to provide the items. We'd just driven 6 hours down from Dallas in terrible traffic a decided that since it was late so we would spend the nite but probably never again sleep in an America's Best Value Inn. Another item which was odd but not terrible was that the breakfast was provided in the restaurant on the property. It was a regular breakfast of eggs & bacon or similar but did not include the coffee or tea.
