Very Nice!

This is a place I would recommend wholeheartedly! However the surrounding neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired. We loved the bathroom in our room! This hotel is so nice for the price, I'm worried that we might be a bit spoiled now! LOL

Bait and Switch

Posted Jul 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel advertised both a jacuzzi tub as well as free breakfast. Upon arrival we were put in a room for 2 queen beds with no jacuzzi tub. We called the front desk and they advised us that jacuzzi tubs were only in the rooms with one king bed. Since we were travelling with 2 adults and 2 kids this was not possible and we specifically chose this hotel because of the jacuzzi tub. They also advertise free breakfast and in fact we paid $10 extra per night to take advantage of this. When we came down at 8:30am we were told the breakfast buffet only went until 8am and we had to pay. We were not happy and when asking the front desk they could not have been more rude about it. I was completely dissatisfied with the service level of this hotel and the bait and switch tactics that are not clearly spelled out.

New Hotel

Posted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was a new hotel very clean, very new, nice pool, nice rooms. "Free Breakfast" over at 8 and the only option is to then buy breakfast. The hotel staff was ok. Removed my plate even though I wasn't done with it. The chef was mad that he had to remake my eggs since they weren't what I had asked for. Overall good hotel get breakfast somewhere else.

Great Stay! But odd location...

Posted May 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Holiday Inn Channelview was excellent in regards to quality, cleanliness, and service. The hotel was very new and workout rooms, pool, and hotel rooms were well equipped, clean, and comfortable. The only con I'd note was the hotel's location in Channelview...a bit of a neglected area and noted for crime and drugs; however, nearby shipyards and other businesses are starting to expand and bring some vitality to the area. I never felt unsafe, as the hotel has good security, and being located immediately next to I-10, it was easy to get to and from with a rental car. Noise from the freeway wasn't an issue while sleeping, either. About 20-mins to Houston downtown, 45-mins to Galleria, and 30-mins to Reliant Center.
