Beautiful facility with outstanding amenities, HOWEVER, where are you supposed to park? Conference center consists of campus buildings with limited parking at each building location. There is a large parking lot at the property entrance, however, the location is not convenient to the building for checking in. We drove to the McLean Building for our stay and check-in. Then we had to cruise the campus and find somewhere to park other than their event parking area. This was a problem, especially at night and in the rain. There is a shuttle (golf cart) from the parking lot to the main entrance, however, availability is not guaranteed and you must call ahead. The campus is gorgeous and amenities are excellent, but this is truly a conference center for the lodger who will not need to leave once they arrive. If you need to leave the facility often or for local commutes, it is very inconvenient to always worry about parking. Each night, we parked in areas not designated for parking to avoid walking uphill on a long dark driveway. Because of this, I would only stay here if I never needed to leave campus. If you are NOT driving, there is great local shuttle service within a five mile radius.

It's a great location on Franklin St. near UNC. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely furnished. The free breakfast is much better than the usual cereal and toaster waffles and features freshly made breakfast items. There are lots of non-chain restaurants close by that provide tasty food.
Two sore spots, the thermostat in my west facing room would not go below 68 and was quite noisy when it did come on. Second, the internet is sloooooooow. Can't imagine anyone successfully watching a movie off the internet. Have stayed there before it became Hilton property and don't remember having internet problems

"Comfortable budget hotel, convenient to Chapel Hil"
This is an older hotel but nicely updated. The area is very safe. The room and bed were quite comfortable. It has a nice looking pool, which I did not get to try. It's very convenient to several restaurants (kid and family-style), within easy walking distance, and within an easy drive of very nice restaurants, with plenty of activities around for all ages. It is set well back from the road and was quite quiet. Nicely landscaped. I did not try the breakfast. This would be a convenient hotel for trips to the local universities and hospitals, and a lot cheaper than some of the hotels right in town.

We just returned from a 6 night stay here. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff is excellent! We found the location perfect for our needs. Good area neighborhood for walking and easy access to interstate and stores. Breakfast had enough choices for all, wish there were a few more fruits but it wasn't a problem. We would return if in the area again.

Chapel Hill is home to the University of North Carolina, the oldest state-supported university in the U.S. It is part of the state’s Research Triangle. Chapel Hill is known for its liberal, college-town ways. Nearby Carrboro has a vibrant music scene, with Cat’s Cradle being one of the top clubs in the country for live music.
