Chapel Hill Vacations
It's recommended not to limit yourself to the attractions of Chapel Hill because the surrounding region has been graced with plenty of interesting cities, attractions and landscapes. Culleoka, 19 miles (31 kilometers) to the northeast, and Bell Buckle, 19 miles (31 kilometers) to the west of Chapel Hill are worth a visit too.
Nashville, is another good place to head to. It is 40 miles (64 kilometers) from Chapel Hill and offers a great selection of things to do and see, for example Farmer's Market, Ryman Auditorium and Tennessee State Capitol. If your itinerary allows consider checking out Vanderbilt University, Hank Williams Jr. Museum and Tennessee State Fairgrounds before heading back to Chapel Hill.
To really get an understanding of a place, it's often helpful to learn a little local history. Central Tennessee's evocative historic mansions are a marvellous place to start.
The Central Tennessee area offers a number of relaxing activities. Spend the day camping or cycling and let your stress melt away. Ensure you pack a pair of walking shoes and sign up for one of the fascinating winery tours.
If you plan on arriving and departing by plane, it's handy to remember that the nearest major airport is Nashville International Airport, 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the north of Chapel Hill.
