“very basic”

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in August 2011. I had read the reports that others had written about this hotel beforehand and was a little concerned as to what to expect. The hotel itself was a 10 minute walk from La Rochelle harbour. Unfortunately the hotel is situated with a railway line to one side and a hospital to another. This meant that at times there was noise from trains carrying cargo and helicopters delivering patients to the hospital.The room was very basic and really in need of updating and refurbishment. Noise travelled easily between rooms. Staff were very helpful and polite and spoke fluent English. We purchased internet access however it was very unreliable.
