The terrace is a big plus for the hotel and the lovely view. I also liked the fact that it was out of town and encompassed a very pleasant walk through the tree-lined pathway. The breakfast and aperitifs were all very nice, but I must say, the staff were all brilliant. Really friendly, easygoing, helpful. I would easily recommend it and go again!

2 day stay in La Rochelle
The hotel is amazing right on the coast overlooking St Rochelle harbour. Couple of things let it down but won't change our rating as the place is in such a great location. There was parking on sire and i think the charge was quite high in the room there was no water which seems to be standard in any others we have stayed in at that price. Towels were small, we didn't ask but I am sure their customer service would have provided more if required, and you have to squeeze by the toilet to close the door, no issue for a couple leave it open but if you aren't it was a bit tight. AS per overall score would definitely try and book this hotel again if staying in the area.

Stunning location
Clean, modern and and situated beautifully at the waters edge with an easy 20 minute walk along the coast into the centre of La Rochelle. We chose to make use of the free bike hire which turns it into a 5 minute ride into town. Bikes are king here as the entire town and surrounding roads have dedicated cycle lanes. The outside decking area has sun beds and is a great place to relax and watch the sun set and the yachts sail back to the huge marina, the other side of the water.

Hotel is not in the center of town, but La Rochelle can be reached by foot (10-15 pleasant) along a park/seaside path. The large terrace and underground parking are a plus. Covid-19 measures are correctly adhered to by hotel staff.

Just ok....the good and the not so good...
The hotel is a little out of the town so quite a walk into the centre of La Rochelle. You will need to be prepared to walk a lot if you stay here. The hotel is also a little tired in places and the carpets were not great, but overall ok. Sun terrace was nice with great views. Dog friendly hotel also had free underground parking. The staff are amazing, exceptionally helpful and work so hard. They do everything at this hotel from working reception to serving breakfast and cleaning the dining room etc.. Only downside is that sometimes reception will not be manned as they are busy doing other jobs such as hoovering up and clearing tables etc.. and they seem to have far too many jobs to do! The cleaners were very attentive and appeared to be taking covid quite seriously. Next time when we visit La Rochelle, we would probably stay somewhere else, closer to the town itself. Despite this, we did enjoy our stay.

A nice clean hotel with a terrace overlooking the sea. The service was very friendly and accommodating. They took all precautions regarding COVID-19. So we felt safe. We might suggest that they have a small restaurant for dinner. Not necessarily a full fledged restaurant, but at least something light like salads etc. We didn’t have a car and there are not many places to eat in the immediate neighborhood.

Loved the location and the view (if you're facing the ocean). Very quiet at night provided you don't have loud neighbors. When the tide is up there's a little landing next to the hotel from which you can take swim. You can walk to the old port from the hotel in less than 15 minutes, and the environment is lovely. Breakfast is a bit poor for the price.

Terrific view with balcony overlooking the sea. So wonderful to wake up to the sound of waves lapping on the shore just yards from your balcony. Only negative was tiny toilet and tiny towels.

All good with the hotel, breakfast (12 euros) was buffet style and great. Nice view (at least from higher floors) over the sea. 20 minute walk into city centre tho' note amenities (restaurant, shops etc) in immediate area are few.

Nice and charming !
Nice hotel with beautiful view. Unfortunately all family rooms seem to be with courtyard views. But the biggest plus is the parking and the easy walking distance to the town center (even with small children). We had also a small fridge at disposal in our room. The ideal would be a restaurant within the hotel but The Mail restaurant at 5 mins is also fantastic! No swimming pool but thereally is a beach right next to it!

Really lovely sea-themed decor. Walking distance to the rugby stadium. Only negative point which is nothing to do with the hotel: it is extremely difficult to get a taxi back to the hotel at night. Restaurants are unwilling to call for you and you may have a very long wait. There seems to be only Les Abeilles taxis and they seem overwhelmed, this is April, so in high summer it must be awful.

ideal location on seafront
excellent hotel and staff who couldn't have been more helpful.....yes 20 min walk along seafront into town for nearest restaurants etc. very quiet hotel in September and must opt for sea view and balcony...admittedly lucky with glorious weather so late in season...kettle and fridge in rooms so you can be self sufficient as we were...catch airport bus 1b from airport into town centre 1 30 euros then get bus 6 for stop outside hotel...overall good value for money.

We had high hopes for the hotel judging by the photos and other reviews. The downstairs reception, restaurant and terrace were nice but the room, hallways and outside appearance of the hotel were disappointing. The outside looked like it was in desperate need of a coat of paint- not very attractive at all. The hallways and room were quite tired and shabby looking and could have been cleaner. It is definitely overpriced as we have stayed in much nicer hotels for far less money.

A pleasant stay and with the views over the sea. Nice walk into the city centre (1mile) and some real good places to eat - unexpectedly good meals. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Downside was the price for an 'ordinary' hotel.

Great Hotel by the sea.
Wonderful Hotel right on beside the water. We loved having breakfast sitting on the terrace looking out over the water. The hotel was clean and updated. It's about a 20 minute walk to the Old Port (The main tourist area). The walk was delightful, as we had to chose to walk along the old stone sea wall or 1 block over was a promenade with trees and flowers. There was no air conditioning in the room, although there were large windows that opened to allow the sea breeze in. Most of the year this shouldn't be an issue but they were having unusually hot weather, which meant nights were uncomfortably warm. No Fridge. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Old Town Access without the Old Town Hassle
The hotel is about 10~15 minute walk from Old Town. The walk is very scenic and safe; different routes are available so it won't get old. This allows the hotel to have larger rooms than typical and free parking. The outside of the hotel doesn't look very inviting (a big concrete box) but the rooms are tastefully done and the balconies overlooking the water are a nice amenity. The immediate location doesn't have much to offer for dining or entertainment, but the walk to Old Town is easy enough if you don't have any mobility issues. We would stay here again.

See La Rochelle in style from your balcony
We stayed 3 nights at Les Brises enjoying some of the pleasures of La Rochelle. Its setting is splendid - right on the shoreline about 20 minutes slow stroll along the front, through a little park, to the centre of town. Reception is staffed all through the night for late/early arrivals. Staff are friendly and helpful - even asked us if we would prefer to speak French or English - they realise some of us are learners! We enjoyed fine weather and took breakfast outside on the terrace - this is a real bonus for what is a very simple hotel. The tide laps right up against the terrace wall and you can watch lots of boats go sailing by. They offer excellent choices at breakfast - fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, alongside good breads and croissants. Evening drinks can be taken on the terrace, too, before wandering into town to try one of the many, many restaurants in La Rochelle. (Or making a big picnic and enjoying that on one of the many benches along the front). Bike hire available and that's perfect way to get around like a local.

Great find - not for heat though
Gorgeous location, nice room, friendly and helpful Staff. The biggest (and really only) downside was that there was no air conditioning. We don't usually notice things like that, being from Alaska, but it was 95 degrees out and felt like 195.
