Adorable B&B close to everything in historic area!

Posted Dec 12, 2014
Pros: The location, the service, the amenities, the food, and the staff - all top notch. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Charleston!
Cons: Nothing! Everything was wonderful :)
Location: Walking distance to the aquarium (I highly recommend the behind the scenes sea turtle tour), museum mile, Battery Park, ghost tours, etc.
Fantastic location, right next to King Street with great shopping and restaurants, walking distance to the aquarium (which is great), museum mile, Battery Park, ghost tours, etc. Staff were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room was adorable, large, and breakfast was delicious. The daily afternoon tea and snacks was a lovely touch. The inn is just beautiful, I will definitely be back!

Beautiful Old Home

Posted Nov 6, 2014
Pros: I like the features in the room, convenience of location, off street parking, and the décor was beautiful. Tastefully done.
Cons: I would suggest maybe putting the small fridge in the alcove which held the ice bucket etc. Just take it off the floor. It seemed out of place there.
Location: Tons of sightseeing in Charleston. It was very convenient to walking & touring.
We stayed one night, lovely room, beautiful home. I thought the outside courtyard was very pretty, although some of the outside exterior on the house is in some decay. But the off street parking was a plus. Perfect location downtown, to tour and visit the local sights on foot. The breakfast was good, & sitting outside to enjoy the weather was welcoming. The furnishing & details to the home are quite lovely, our room was tastefully decorated.

poor housekeeping and maintenance

My first experience with a B&B it was disappointing The location is excellent the sheets were clean But that is where it ends No room to eat unless you go outside(two tables inside ) No tea at nite We made the mistake of not checking our room first so when returned later that nite found bathroom was dirty it looked like the sink and tub were wiped but shower curtain was dirty- floor flithy We were tired and it was late I always carry wipes So I cleaned The tops of everything were cleaned but that was as far as it went Under bed, closets, drawers, window shutters, fans were all layered in heavy dirt dust I was waiting for a response from management before I wrote this but have not received any but the initial we will get back to you We feel we should not have to ask for a clean room-- worn would have been bad enough but dirty was awful

Nice place to sleep, convenient location

Posted Sep 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room was nice, but the stay felt more like a hotel than a B&B. When we choose a B&B, we appreciate feeling as if we were guests in a home. We were unlucky with the weather - lots of rain, so we spent less time outdoors than we normally would. Unfortunately, our room didn't have comfortable seating, nor did the public spaces - all cafe tables and chairs, when I would have appreciated a nice comfy chair to sit and read. The continental breakfasts were similar to what we would find in a hotel, and the seating encouraged people to sit separately, unlike many B&Bs where we have stayed, where we share a table and make acquaintance with the other guests, not to mention sharing experiences in exploring the area where we are staying. The staff were pleasant and polite. We could have had a very similar experience in the nearby hotels.

Old Time Charleston!

Once we had our bags up to the 3rd floor...we enjoyed it!! Not for those with mobility issues. Hosts were friendly and helpful - even with the bags!

Tired Hotel

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness and decor
Location: Close to main shopping areas and attractions
Our room was in need of some TLC. Bathroom left a lot to be desired and was quite dirty. Décor in bedroom was definitely in need of attention. General feel to the whole establishment was 'dated'. We left after only one nights stay.

Perfect location in the midst of everything!

This was a beautiful inn with lots of character, great location, and wonderful amenities. They thought of everything in this room - frig, wine glasses, local magazines, AC, comfy bed and beautiful furnishings. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the inn was located near great shopping and restaurants. The onsite parking was very convenient and the house was beautiful! We would definitely stay here again!
